Ordinary Headstones

http://www.ShareCG.com/v/77989/view/11/Poser/Ordinary-Headstones

A set of ten, more or less ordinary headstones of the "non-spooky" variety.
I made these on request for someone at DAZ's forums, but after giving them their copy, I guess I forgot to uploaded these to ShareCG.
So thanks to BDuncan86 (?) from DAZ's forums for coming across the thread and reminding me about this.
Anyhow… the set is parented together, but individual monuments can be repositioned or deleted if necessary.
For best results, the set would look better with the back row of markers moved back along the Z axis by at least -140.
These could possibly be used with the ground prop (USMHS-Grounds) from my U.S. Military Headstones Set-

They might also look alright with my Mausoleum prop-

This set also contains "Blank Inscription Plates" textures for each headstone, so you may make your own custom inscriptions.
Tested in Poser 2010 and DAZ Studio 4.6

The Uploading for this was a pain as the file kept timing out, I checked it and it appears to be all there now, but let me know if there is a problem.

PS- bduncan86... I tried to PM you to let you know I posted this... but the forum software said I didn't send it, so when I tried again it said I did send it, but more than once... so I decided to not make anymore attempts at PMing, as just one of my emails or PMs is more than enough for most people in one lifetime... so sorry if you got two, or none... or even that one.
And if you haven't come across this thread and have no idea who I am or you are just a figment of my imagination... just ignore all this.
Also... If you are real and not imaginary, there is no need to reply... sometimes I like to think other people are figments of my imagination... it makes life more fun and I feel less confused by real imaginary conversations.

Whaddaya know! Non-spooky, everyday, ordinary modern headstones!

This is the first time I've ever virtually come across such a thing. And thank you very much! :)

Hooray! Realistic modern tombstones! These are the first I've seen anywhere, and they're beautiful. Are those epitaphs textures or engraving in the object?

Thank you for these! Like the others have said here, I've never run across ordinary, non-spooky markers before. At least, not that I can recall. And these do look very well made. So thank you again!

@ ModernWizard- Nope, I used the "Bevel & Emboss" FX feature in Photoshop on the lettering, it gives the appearance of depth from a short distance.
I considered making some headstones engraved, but their original purpose was more or less background props, so I didn't pursue that... also with the inclusion of the separate blank textures for the inscription areas, one has the ability to add their own wording, font style, etc.
I didn't make a set, but it shouldn't be too hard to hook up a very simple displacement map for an engraving, to give it that added depth or detail.

Good stuff! Don't forget, it was an ordinary marker like one of these that cracked open Johnny's head at the beginning of Night of the Living Dead. :ahhh: You never can tell when one these might hit you in the head!

  • Nice work bro.
