Here I'm using MetaMorpher alongside existing body morphs + assets like hair and different materials.

Looks fantastic. Any plans for a "body" version?

Depends on how much interest there is. There's also the possibility of it not working as well for the body. I've got some ideas but haven't tested them out yet.

The examples in the two videos seem to be Genesis 8.1 characters and morphs, but will this app also work with, say, Genesi 3 characters and morphs?

It only works for Genesis 8 and 8.1. It can be made to work for Genesis 3 but I don't know if all the work it takes to convert it is worthwhile.

I think a lot more people are likely to buy this if it works with other generations....but maybe the thing to do is get started with the Genesis 8 product then add more as addons; although, for me, Genesis 3 is a must as that is the generation I have stuck with, at least for the foreseeable. Mind you, I still use everyone back to Michael 4 and Victoria 4, so I'd get better use out of a product that covered all the bases.

I think Genesis 3 would be worthwhile, but Genesis 8 and 8.1 alone would be great.  Maybe add G3 support in a paid add-on if the G8+ does well?

The thing about G3 is that it comes with the eyelashes attached which causes several issues. The user will need to go through a series of tedious steps themselves in order to make the MetaMorpher morphs not mess up the eyelashes geometry. Some might not find it worthwhile but we'll see.

    Update:

Added some extra functionality. You can also use Gen 8 Female face morphs on Gen8 Male and vice versa.

...I never understood the reason for separating the lashes.  Brows, yes, because the old painted on brows were a pain to deal with particularly when trying to match hair colour, and it never allowed for more variation. About the only time I mess with lashes is for a few albino characters (as they must be devoid of melanin just like the hair).

For skins I generally create my own using ZevO's Skin Builder3.and for hair colour, Sosh's UHT2 Salon so I am used to applying brows separately (with fibremesh or though SBP3 which also has a brow generator that allows for different shapes and colour).

Extreme morphs mess up the eyelashes. Separating them helps prevents this. At least, that's how I understand it. It is certainly easier to adjust eyelashes with mesh-grabber when they are separated.

    Watching this  yes

I use G3 as much as G8 (maybe even more since the protagonist and deuteragonist on the project I'm working on are both G3Fs.)  I actually don't the use default eyelashes because I prefer Soto's.  And when I use G8F geoshells I turn the opacity of the geoshell eyelashes to zero, the most recent case being geoshell sweat from another store because the ones I had from here didn't do it for me.  Anyhoo, if you're considering a paid add-on for G3 support what about providing G3 eyelashes so the users turn off default eyelashes for G3 and use the ones provided (assuming they don't already have and use their own 3rd party eyelashes).

    Just a thought...

    What @JeffG said laugh

Am waiting for this anxiously and have converted my G3F characters to G8F; the knotty issue I ran into with the one using Eliza morphs which led to warped hands (have been trying to convert her since 2019) was unexpectedly solved when i used all the XT converted morphs instead of just the bodysurprise

This looks really quite cool. How does it handle rigging? More extreme morphs will have had rigging adjusted to shape - cam it pull the rigging for the brow from one morph, the mouth from another, for example?

Rigging will have to be adjusted in most cases but it only takes 5 seconds using the Adjust Rigging to Shape feature in Studio.

That's too incomplete for a proper solution, workarounds are only good as a placeholder until an actual solution comes out, and plus the ARtS is not always an ideal solution, especially for the face... still, this is amazing work nonetheless can't wait to see it at the store!

yeah lets have body version soon

  • I understand usability of this product if you want to create a character from scratch by blending few fixed base characters. But inability to freely add different characters we own as base seems its serious limitation for customizing an existing character with this product.
