Miss Oda May and FBX export

I picked this figure up awhile back, https://www.daz3d.com/oda-may-hd-for-genesis-8-female_Kooki99 not for any particular project but that she was just dripping with character and I'd find something. I export most of my figures out via FBX for further work in a different app. However Oda May is a bit more special I'm finding. She has 8k maps & using a sub-d setting of 4.
However, none of that is getting exported with FBX 2014. The geom is essentially Sub-D 0. She's looking more like Whitney Houston than Mom's Mabley. I vaguely recall some thread on this some time back, but wasn't relavent at the time I guess. In any case, don't know if a resolve was found.
As a test, I did an "bake everything I could possibly bake" bake with Oda May in Daz and exported out as and OBJ. The resulting geom was quite dense & looks like I've recovered the detail missing from the FBX.
These aren't surface adjusted, btw. OBJ's have a different UV than FBX's so you can't just copy & paste.
So it's possible to get the detail out of DS via OBJ's, but how do you get the FBX to do that?
Is it simply a setting that needs to get enabled, and is that even user accessible, as in is it hard encoded in the export module itself?
