How do I hide the Tips tab?

I have done something that has caused my Properties window to no longer show (for example) the Translation, Rotation, and Scale sliders when I select Transforms. They show properly if I drill down, but the consolidated view is gone.

Unrelated, is there any way to disable the Tips tab that pops up from the bottom? It's more than useless now that the video tutorials are 404...

EDIT: I found the "Show Sub Items" check box. How did I click on something I didn't even know existed? Still stumped on hiding the Tips.

There is a little rectangular box in the middle of the splitter bar that toggles the pane or sub-pane below it. Easy to miss.

Tips isn't a hidable thing - it fills the space when there is nothing else to show (as when Show Sub Items is off and you have a group with no items selected).

The part on the right cannot be hidden, as you say, but I think he means the "Additional Information" pane at the bottom.

  • Yes. I want to remove that lower pane altogether. Two reasons: (1) I frequently hit it by mistakes when trying to resize the window, and (2) the lowermost slider on some panes seems to want to hide behind it, making that slider inaccessible until the pane is expanded and collapsed.

Sounds like a UI problem. That part is hard-coded, I'm sure, and can't be changed casually. A Technical Support Ticket would be the only way to get any kind of response. We're just users here...
