Freezing when adjusting figures

I hope someone can help me.
When I try to work in Daz3d it has become so slow, that I can’t even use sliders for posing, shaping or transition things. It is kind of freezing for a while, even in Texture Shaded mode.
I have tried to clear cache, without result.
Can anyone point me in some direction for solving the problem.
I have attached log file just after opening Daz. If anything, additional information is needed for your help, I will of course provide it.
I am not very technical, so my apologies for not being more specific.
Beneath is details of my system.

DAZ 3D: Version 4.15.0.2 Pro Edition (64-bit)

System specifications:
Processor Intel® Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
System disk (where Daz also is installed): Samsung SSD 860 4TB

Windows 10 Pro
Anti Virus: Kaspersky

Thank you for reading.

First, start using DS in offline mode.

  • Thank you very much for answering PerttiA.
I did try in offline mode, but didn't made much of a difference.

What do you have in the scene when it starts slowing down? dForce hair, heavily smoothed clothes, high SubD:s?

  • It actually starts slowing down/freezing it when I load in any characte. It gets worse, the more I load in. Hair, cllothes, props etc., but hasn't been a problem earlier.

When you have started DS, before you load a character, clear the log. Load the "Genesis 8 Basic Female", open the log and save it somewhere you can easily find and attach the log to your post (as a text file, not PDF)

  • PerttiA,I really appreciate all the help you are giving me, it is very kind of you. I am sorry for my delayed answer. But I have one more question, before I can send the log file. How do I clear the log?

Hausfrau Mafia, Thank you so much for the link, The setting was already as, kt was shown in the video.

When you have the log (Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File) open, select everything and press 'Delete' on your keyboard, close and choose 'Save' when asked.

It's almost 11pm here, but if nobody picks up, I'll get back tomorrow.

  • Thank you so much PerttiA I wish you a pleasant night.

  • I have now cleared the log, then loaded Genesis 8 Female and saved the log file, which is attached here.
I tried after changing shapes and poses. There was no slowing down or freezing. But I only loaded the base figure without materials. I don't want to try lot of things out, before I know, what else to do ;).

  • Sorry. Forgot to attach the the log. Here it is.

Ok that didn't look bad... Since the base figure doesn't cause slowing down, the reason for slowing down can be found with the chosen materials (SubD and maybe the size of textures), vertex count, texture size and/or smoothing of used hair and clothing.

DS does strain the system in ways that other programs/games do not. If you are having problems, it is always good to start with reducing unnecessary load, ie. close down other programs and use DS in offline mode. It will be easier to troubleshoot the problem too when there are minimal distractions.

Download GPU-Z (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) to see what kind of memory loads your scenes are causing.

  • PerttiA, thank you again for using your time to help.
I downloaded the GPU-Z and I have attached three screenshots from that after opening Daz and loading a Genesis 8 Female character. There was no problem moving around or posing.
Then I did some test on older scenes I have done, some with up to three Genesis 8 figures (Render SubD Level = 4), lots of props and environments. No problems at all.
Then I have experimented with just one Genesis 8 character and with different hair and clothing and found out that some dForce Hair cause the problem. So it seems I just have to avoid those. I think I have used the dForse Sea Salt Hair before without noticing problems, but I might be wrong.
If this is the problem, I apologize for using your and others time, because I of course should have tested that.
