Need some help with my shark

Need some tips for my shark image ... I asked this in another thread but got no response, so I hope it's ok to ask again here.

I used RSSY's Iray to 3DL converter on AM's Great White. I also added a clear gloss shader on top of that and set the lighting model to 'skin' to give him more of a slick/wet look. However, I love how the wounds look in the promos (see here) ... how can I make those wounds look like they are actual cuts into the flesh with 3DL surface settings?

I have never used 3delight, but the cuts are done with maps, so I would guess making sure the bump. normal and displacement maps are still there after the conversion would be the key

Sooo ... I'd have to load a secondary shark that I hadn't tampered with and converted to see what those settings were ... maybe? I'll try that. But if anyone else can walk me through it, I'd be most grateful :) That's for that idea FSMCDesigns :)

Yeah especially normalmaps and opacitymaps are often lost in the conversion. You could load another shark and look for the lost maps in the surface list, or browse to folder location and load them manually. Copying the actual IRay settings does not necessarily work well, as Iray handles heightmaps quite differently than 3DL. Start by loading the displacement maps, set min/max to -0.50/0.50, set displacement strength to 100% and do a testrender, go from there.
