Adding bones to a figure?

I want to add the toe bones and then make each joint bend like a finger.
(In Daz, without using any other tools)
Most of the videos are about adding bones to clothes or props, not adding bones to figures.
This video is most similar to my intentions, but this is not what I want as it is converting props into figures.

I would like to know the exact process or suitable tutorial video

Adding a bone is adding a bone, I'm not sure what more you want.
I thought it was a different kind of rigging because of the 'Convert Prop to Figure' at the beginning of the linked video.
Is the process of adding bones to an existing figure the same as the linked video?
Can I just follow the video?
If I don't 'Convert Prop to Figure' and just right-click on the bone > 'Create' > 'Create Child Bone' and add a bone, will there be any problem?
Yes, once it's turned into a figure by any method (converting a prop, Figure Setup pane, Transfer Utllity) it is just a figure, of whatever type (parametric/legacy/Poser or weight-mapped) and editing it is the same regardless of its origin (though of course the origin will affect the number of bones you have to start with).
Thank you very much for the answer! : )
I have one more question.
Can I use symmetry when adding and positioning bones?
When doing weight mapping, there is 'Symmetry' option in Tool Settings, but I don't know how to create and control bones symmetrically.
Do I have to 'mirror' like in this video after making one side?

I would assume the video is just using the Symmetry script, which is for posing not rigging. The Joint Editor tool does have a Mirror Joints command, but I'm not sure if it does what you want (it didn't seem to on a quick test, but it's not a feature i have used).
