Partly loaded textures

Hi everyone,

I'm new to daz studio and trying my hardest to learn it, but i got to something i don't understand.

i downloaded a model for a kitchen from here: https://www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-models/interior/kitchen/modern-kitchen-design-with-island.

But when i import it into my DAZ studio i only see this (see attachment).

How do i get the details into DAZ studio?

Thanks for your help,

Nick

It has an X next to UV Mapping in the feature list - UV Mapping is essentially instructions on how to wrap a flat texture image around the 3D modle. Presumably in the target applicaitons it uses some kind of projection to get the images onto the model, but DS does not directly support that. Without UVs, or a custom sahder written to project the maps, DS will not show textures just flat colours.

It does say on the site that one of the formats available is an OBJ with an MTL,  so if you use that format it should be uvmapped in order to have an MTL file

Not necessarily, it might just apply flat colours to the surface group(s).

So there is not really a way to fix it? it  just does not work in daz studio?
