I just opened the Dragon where I have been slowly reinstalling older products through DIM, and all four of SW French Quarter... are there in my inbox waiting for me to install. On Drake, my laptop, all are installed. (I tried to leave a comment this morning, but hit 'Cloudshare' and gave up.)
On a positive note, I now can tick those four and install today. And I sent a very large editing project back to its author for his review, so I have time to breathe now. And look at four months of purchases I have not had a chance to test/play with.
For everyone in the States, I hope you enjoy tomorrow and be safe if traveling. Enjoy your food and seeing folks, watching movies, football, or Dazing.
Colorado counties are finally reinstating the mask mandates indoors. I went back to wearing mine inside stores last summer when Covid cases went up here. And for the past few days, I have worn it because I have had some kind of cold thing going on. Can't get the Flu or Covid booster because of it yet.

Using a Mac with its current OS I had to use a 4.15 beta. A few streange problems - notately Victoria 8.1 wouldn't load. 4.16.1.2 beta cleared that up, so I thought I'd get past the beta and use the new 4.16 release. That led to crashes so I'm back on the latest beta which is more stable for me. Unless you're trying to run a Mac with its current OS I'd stay away from 4.16 for awhile.
Well I'm stuck with 4.16 because it wiped out my 4.15. I see a lot of options are gone and can't remember the names of them (I use Mitchell not Gaussian, and there were some noise options/radius filters or whatnots who are no longer there now. They were additional options depending on what you picked.) Anyway, for those of you in the U.S, here's the closed stores (about TIME they gave their employees the holiday to spend with their family. Although this past year with everyone being just downright rude and nasty, I wouldn't want the pushing, shoving crowds magnified x 100 in my store either.) Note Michaels IS open tomorrow for all you early birds who buy Christmas lights, etc.

I have only loaded up one version of the new updates on each computers, the Beta on Dragon and the new Release version on Drake and I compared the Filtering screens on Dragon and you are correct, things are missing. I took snips so you can compare them. Discussion has been that the new 4.16.0.3 Pro Edition only change is to allow it to use MetaMixer, so you can still find those options on that release. From what I understand there are 'issues' with Iray that needs fixing by Nvidia that are in 4.16.1.2 Beta, but it is missing your options.
I am just glad I have saved my files for the past year or more for D|S so I can fall back if I need to.
My irritation is a camera that is floating at a god's eye view of the scene at opening (Not sure where that came from) and the delay it takes to open the new version.

Thanks Mary, I knew things were missing but I do the settings so automatically (when you load certain products they erase your settings) so I check each one before I render.
This product is also missing from my DIM. I am getting REALLY fed up with Daz and just haven't been buying AT ALL since they can't get their act together. You don't know anything is wrong until you have repeated, repeated, repeated failures. You may be missing things in your DIM and just don't know it.

I am contacting support and they can find the missing files. NOT MY JOB. And I am going to frankly get quite nasty if they ask me to supply a list, with the amount of products I have.
I have a question, if anyone has bought this: https://www.daz3d.com/captains-quarters-environment can the walls/ceiling be hidden? And do the drawers work and does the door open? Thanks for any info.
It's made up of parented props, the ceiling and each wall are goruped and so can be hidden. The items of furniture all seem to be single-node props, but the main room doors do open.

Oh great. Get ready for Omicron, the new Covid variant which already has over a dozen mutated strains and growing. It's another one of those rapidly transmissable ones and started in South Africa. They've raised the level from "interest" to "concern." I haven't read anything about the seriousness of it, aka, if it is as severe as the Delta one or more like the original one. They are trying to figure out if they'll need to get booster shots adjusted but there's so many strains I wonder how they'd do it. They're working with South Africa to see if it evades the antibodies from the current vaccines.
EU and the UK have shut down flights from South Africa and surrounding countries.
I have been busy, but the few times I have listened to the news, BBC, CNN, MSNBC or read The New York Times or The Washington Post over the past few days, the story has shifted, because the science is shifting as new things are being learned. I can only suggest everyone to read or listen to a reputable news/science/health source.
But what we are seeing in Colorado right now, where we just had to institute our mask mandate again, with hospitals maxed out at 100% almost statewide, the majority of those dying from Covid-19 right now are those not vacinated. There are a few whose underlying conditions took them, along with Covid-19.
So, please, if you have not got your vac, jab, shot, booster or whatever yet, please do. And wear a mask in enclosed spaces. Especially if you have a cold or other non-Covid illness, help keep it from others.
And yeah, I am not a fan of a mask, but I also hate being sick as a dog and I have had walking pneunomia, the flu, bronchitus, measles out the wahzoo when I was a kid. If a bug was moving around school or my office, it found me.
Think about taking action so this holiday season is a good one for you, your family and your community.

I found the problem. Show Hidden Files got unchecked in DIM, and I DID NOT DO IT. I can't prove it happened when 4.16 got installed with that stupid new toolkit. That forced me to ditch 4.15 because the toolkit uses 4.16 and it zapped my 4.15 without telling me it would do that if I did the Product Updates and install the toolkit. So check to see if your Show Hidden Files is still checked if you did anything with that toolkit or took on 4.16. I also got one of those "too many connections" thingamajiggy messages and had to exit, don't know if that screwed it up either.
I got Windfield's Flora hair. I like it a lot. I always have to set the backlight to Off (one of the included settings) or the loose strands are way too bright.

Posting this without reading all the forums, it may have been mentioned. Here's how you get 78% off some on sale items if you didn't use your orange banner for 30% off yet. I think that ends TODAY.

If any of you are looking for a good webcam, my son who does video game tournaments and who works at a video game store (not selling games, actually running tournaments and folks play at the venue) scooped this one up today and so did I. @barbult @fishtales Those all look good. I like the windblown effect on the hair and there's a lovely variety of colors with that hair. Freja's lighting looks good- did you increase the bump on the skin or is that the default? It's nicely detailed.
the lighting in your renders look natural. The lighting in some of the promotional images of some newer products seems a bit bright and washed out.
I got Gabriela 8 free today because I had all the Victorias. I applied the Vellus Horizon shader to Gabriela.
I also bought the dForce Kira Outfit. It comes with several textures and dForce worked pretty well in this pose. I added a smoothing modifier to fix a little poke through on the arms after dForce.
All I have done is increase the Cornea Bulge in the eyes the rest is as it comes, which is unusual for me as I am in the habit of changing something :)

I got a 25% banner for holiday loyalty. I guess that's from spending at the beginning of the year, as I put the brakes on it for quite awhile. Anyone get higher than 25% as I am assuming there's probably a max of 30% ?
Just a heads up. Freja 8 and Freja 8.1 load into the scene as Freya 8/8.1, everything else is Freja. Confused me when I saved the scene as Freja and then saw it was Freya in the scene and after changing it and saving it I noticed that it was Freja in the library, so I was right the first time. :)
I wonder what the lowend is? Since DS wasn't playing with my Mac for most of the year I've only spent about $50 and all in the last two months. That gives a 20% banner.
I've spent almost nothing in the last several months because my computer is packed with too much stuff and causes problems with DAZ, I got 20%.
