Spots in my renders

Hi. I am rendering an image series using 3Deight on a new Windows machine. I am getting random artifacts on a small number of frames. The attached sample is extreme. Most of the affected frames have just a small spot.
I had previously rendered the same scene on my Mac with no artifacts.
If anybody can tell me how to correct it, I'd be grateful.
Thanks!

Could you point out what you're referring to?
I couldn't see what you might be reffering to.
Is my attachment visible? There is a big discoloration on the face of the character in front.
Looks like nobody on the forums has a clue as to what's going on, me included. I'm on a Mac and haven't seen anything like it. Basically it shouldn't matter what platform you are using, and you say it's a new PC so that should rule out possible hardware issues. You mention frames, are you rendering to an image sequence? If you render this frame as a still image, do you get the same artefacts? If you re-render, does it look the same or different? Have you tried narrowing down by turning off lights, turning off SSS or translucency or specular on the skin? Doesn't look like a skin issue though, as the hair and clothing have the spots too. As you can see I'm very much shooting in the dark here. I wouldn't totally rule out some issues with the CPU.
I would see if I could first narrow it down to an individual light. Go the the frame you showed and shut off all scene lights, then render the frame. Then turn on one light, re-render, Turn on the next light, re-render.
I know nothing about 3DL, but it looks like a super bright narrow beam light bouncing off the face onto the shirt. Weird.
Here is another example. I've circled the spots. Most frames are fine, but these spots show up randomly, and if I render again, there are spots on different frames. It's always different.
My Mac never did this, and I opened the same file on the PC. There are various lights involed. I think I used a preset light set.
Thanks to everybody for trying to figure it out. Any other ideas?
It would be interesting to know if it's related to the lighting, so do you get this with no lights in the scene, only using the camera headlamp? Also interested in your rendersettings, particularly the pixelfilter and shading rate.
I will play around with the lights. My render settings are the same as the settings I used on my Mac. Stay tuned. Thanks.
Are you using the same version of DS on both systems?
It could be something that's 'broken' between the two versions.
Happens sometimes that an update will break content and introduce all kinds of weird errors.
See the multiple threads about current iray and hair rendering weird.
I don't use 3Delight and don't know if it has optimisations like Iray does (memory/speed/auto) and which may cause your renders to find "black holes" in places there aren't any, changing the optimisation profile makes them disappear/appear.
can it be related to bucket size?
It's not 3Delight related as far as I know. It was updated from 3DL v11 to 3DL v12 with DS 4.8, no new updates since.
Yes, the same version. So far, I haven't had a problem with iray renders.
I don't know much about the optimisations, but it's worth looking into. Thanks.
I have no clue, but I will experiment with bucket size. Thanks.
I'm wondering if it could be related to system services. I may need to disable some backgraound stuff. Any ideas of where to start?
