Spring Dynamics by 3DUniverse, does it work for anyone?

I bought this months ago and never tried it. Now i realize it doesn't even run on my PC. I'm running DS 4.12.0.86. If it needs a newer version of DS then I guess I'm screwed, but I'm pretty sure when it was released it was supposed to to work with this version. I can't find any info about it or even any threads. I've tried uninstalling it and reinistalling it. This is all I see in the log when i try to run it.

It works for DS 4.12 and DS 4.15 and I tested it. I found various sources and instructions elsewhere, here are some:

Someone wrote the following (I don't know the source anymore, maybe here in a DAZ Forum):

This script only works with Bones.

Why the developer did not add a simple readme to describe how it can be used is beyond me.

    1. First create your base animation then click on a bone, or multiple bones.

    2. Open the script (Products, S, Spring Dynamics.)

    3. For frequently used Scrpits, you can right-click in the window view and create a Custom Action, which will show up at the top of your main program window under Scripts, much faster than looking it up each time.)

    4. In the script window, I use Animation range, so it covers the full animation,
and slide the strenght way down to 20 or so, otherwise it can overpower your movements in the animation.

    5. Then hit Apply Effect. You should see a flash of green at the bottom of the script window, for each bone chosen, You won't see anything if you didn't choose a bone because its not affecting anything.

Exit the window and play the animation.

Hope this helps. It will take a lot of testing and undos to get subtle effects.

thanks for your response, but I can't even open the script,. it doesn't matter if I preselect a bone or not prior to doubleclicking on the script, i've tried both ways, and tried many different bones and different figures. I get the same error message in the log that the script can't run. Its been way past 30 days, so I guess I'm just SOL.

I use DS 4.12.1.118 instead of DS 4.12.0.86, maybe this makes the difference, I don't know really!

My log shows with DS 4.12.1.118 > script executed successfully < of course.

There has been some discussions for these particular script load error (compatibility issues)

Maybe these links help and there are some other discussions for this kind of script load error here in the forums

Search with google for "script load error .dse" as an example

Well thats interesting. Guess I'll have to try the latest DS beta and see if it works. I still need to keep 4.12.0.86 because its the only version that is stable with some of my other plug-ins.

by the way, just to follow up after much testing, Spring Dynamics does work great in the 4.15 beta, and I have no problem saving the scene in 4.15 and re-opeing it for use in 4.12.86. Its a little bit of a nuissance to have to shuffle back and forth between the two versions of DS, but  defintely worth it for the realism that Spring Dynamics adds to my animations.
