How do I split the Content Library panel horizontally?

Total Noob question. I see tutorials where the Content Library panel is split horizontally, with the outline above and the thumbnails of the selected items below, rather than on the left and right. I like that layout, but I have not been able to figure out how to flip them around. Thanks!

    Right-click on the Content Library tab -> Preferences -> View as List
