Is there a way to add in a signature or creators mark without dragging out PS or Fireworks or another application>

Sorry in advance if this is asked, i've searched and couldn't find an answer. :(

if you want to add to the scene a plane then apply a signature map and a transparency map you can then locate the plane into the scene and render with your signature into the image.

You could just open the image in an image editor and create your signature there. I have a png of my sig that I just add to the corner of my render.

You wanna get really fancy over the top crazy, Carrara I know does and I hear Hexagon and other apps read fonts to create 3D text.
create your own font in a font creation program, the program will find it on your computer in its 3D text editor
then export an obj of your signature!!!

Or you can sign your name on Carrara or Bryce's terrain map editor
convert to a vertex model and edit
    or
    export the obj
use the polygon editing tool to remove the excess mesh

You could use the Layered Image Editor to overlay it on to object in scene, like a bit of graffiti on a building. A proper grey scaled image layered to the displacement of an object to form raised or chiseled in effect. Lots of ways to add a mark once you really get to know the program.

last sentence is the million dollar one. once you really get to know the program. I'm still digging into it.
