closing hand

Hi I was re rigging my character then realized that to close the hand (as in grasp or a fist..) I actually had to select each finger and bend them and that is very tedious to select each finger every time you wanted to do that,so was wondering if anyone could tell me how do they create that one dial that controls all the fingers of the hand to close them (fist)
the figure is fully done but i saved a copy of him through every step just in case of something like this so i wouldn't have to start from scratch .
any help is greatly appreciated

thank you

Remember that you can select multiple items and adjust their bends together (as long as you are using one of the panes, it doesn't work with the viewport widget). To set up a pose control you need to pose the fingers as you want them when the control is at 1, then right-click on the Parameters pane and select edit mode (if it isn't already in Edit mode); right-click again and choose Create New Property, and in the dialogue give it a name and label, set its path to Pose Controls/Hand (or whatever you want - if the group exists you can get it by clicking on the triangle button, if not you will have to type it in), set the Type to Modifier/Pose and set limits if desired; with the new control create and the fingers posed, and no other changes to the figure, right-click on the new property and select ERC Freeze..., then just make sure that your property is selected at the top and that the finger bends, and nothing else, are selected at the bottom and that Restore Figure and ApplyControl property are checked (Restore Figure rigging shouldn't matter, as long as you've memorised the rigging); after you click Accept the figure should look the same, but the finger bends are now controlled by the new property.
