How do you tuck pants into boots?

OK so I'm sure there is some obvious answer I'm overlooking but I'm too dumb to see it. I have many pairs of pant,s and boots with many morphs, but the pants don't have ankle morphs and only some of the boots have any morphs at all. The ones that do are not dynamic enough to open to accomodate pants. What is the trick? Increasing the scale of the boots made them look like bigfoot so that's out.

There are too many different boot shaft lengths for it to be worthwhile to make the morphs necessary to fit them all.

The easy way is to use Mesh Grabber to adjust the bottoms of the pants.  Mesh Grabber covers a multitude of fit problems and pokethroughs.  Get it on sale.  It's easily the most useful script add-on in the Daz store.  Between that and Fit Control, you can make anything fit any character.  The rotations add-on is often helpful, but not as frequently useful.

Thanks, I actually own Mesh Grabber and completely forgot about it because I couldn't figure out how to use it. I'll try again.

Agree - Mesh Grabber is great.  yesyes

Free solution.  Adjust the pants and the boots with DFormers.  For simple poke through actions like reducing scale or pulling in one direction, D-Formers are pretty easy.  For more difficult issues, or if issues will be common, then budget for mesh grabber.  Mesh grabber is useful for so many things beyond poke through.  Love Mesh Grabber.

How to use a d-former on a pant leg.

    - Select the pants.  Go to top left menu.  Click CREATE.

    - Choose NEW D-FORMER.

    - Prompted for a name for your D-Former.  Enter a useful name or accept default.  Accept by clicking OK.

    - Red circles appear around the pants in the viewport.

    - In scene tab, open your pants hierarchy to see the body parts, etc. by clicking triangle next to pants.

    - See D-Former (name) Base with a little triangle next to it.  Do nothing so far.

    - Click the triangle next to the base to open its hierarchy.

    - See D-Former (name).  Do nothing so far.

    - Also see D-Former (name) Field with no triangle next to it.

    - Will be using the Field, Base, and the D-Former to adjust the pant leg.

    - Select the Field and see the pant mesh become little dots, some red and some yellow.  More red means stronger effect, yellow means weaker effect, empty means no effect.  Nothing happens so far.

    - With field selected, Use the parameters pane to transform the field in the X, Y, and Z direction, and scale in various directions, to make the bottom of the pant leg that should be inside the boot red, but top pant leg empty.  Nohing happens so far.

    - Select the Base.  Use the parameters pane to transform the base down to where you want your pant leg inside the boots.  Nothing happens so far.

    - Select the D-Former.  Use the parameter pane to pull the pant leg inside the boot.  The scale options are probably best at this point, but it depends on the pant legs, boots, and how bad the poke through is.  Something should be happening to the red and yellow areas of the pants legs when you use the D-Former at this stage.

    - Adjust to taste.

    - Remember, you can have more than one D-Former on the same item, so if you special concerns for the pants at the top of the boots, you can crate a second or third pants d-former.

    - Remember, you can also create a D-Former for the boots.

We were typing at the same time.  I see you own Mesh Grabber.  It is worth the time to review how to use Mesh Grabber and practice.  But even owning mesh grabber, don't forget D-Formers.

Thanks, much appreciated. I struggle with every sincegtle product at first but eventuially figure them out. Altern8, I almost asked for a refund, and now that I know how to use it, it is my #1 resource. I'm sure it will be that way with Mesh Grabber too.

Another option you may already own is this one https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-ultimate-clothing-fixer. This injects numerous additional morphs into the clothing, including in the shin and foot areas, and these should be able to be used to tuck pants into boots.

I am still getting used to mesh grabber. One thing that I've found that works better for me is to use the geometry editor to select polygons rather than doing it with the mesh grabber tool. Once I have the polygons I want selected, then I go in with mesh grabber and make changes.

There are lots of outfits that have the boots already tucked in. Use those jeans.

Shade them to match your style/context. Jeans/Leather/spandex/cotton/whatever.

Here's an example of a pair of pants with the tucked in morphs included. They work with the boots that come with the set,  and may work with other boots to varying degrees of success.

I can't even imagine a Wild West movie shootout where anyone has their pants tucked into their shorty cowboy boots.
