Turning off emissions?

Seeing as content designers insist on dressing up their sci-fi armour with light bulbs (because hey, screw camoflage), is there any way to turn this off? I've looked in the surface tabs, but while I can change the colour, there is no off switch as far as I can tell. Basically, how do I turn off emission settings when they're preset into a piece of clothing?

Set emission color to black.
