Can you add content to an existing product

Though the head of a (3Delight) creature rendered OK in Iray, the eyes didn’t. So I created new eyes and textures to replace the original eyes. I saved them as Support assets in my product folder.

I would like these eyes and textures to show up alongside the original creature and MATs in the Content Library and in the Content DB Editor. Is there a way to do this?

Edit their metadata (right-click) and in the Compatibility tab right-click to Add Compatibility and select the item you want - they don't have to be in the same product. You could add them, however, by right-click on the product and editing its metadata, then adding the the assets in the first section there (sorry, going from memory here).

For Content library, there are 3 main ways to add it to the original folder.

Out of software: In windows explorer, open the folder your preset is currently in, and the folder you want to place it in. Drag and drop, with the CRTL key held(if both folders on the same drive), from the created folder to the original folder.

In software: Highlight the preset, right click and select "Copy". Goto the original asset folder and right click again selecting "Paste". This makes a copy of the DUF and PNG files.

Link file option. Instead of  creating a direct copy, right click on the preset, select "Create Link for asset..." and then save the link in the explorer window.

You'll need to move/copy the link file(DJL) in explorer, as DS just replicates the original(DUF) file if you try to move/copy the DJL file.

For smart content, can't help, i haven't used it in probably 10yrs.
