Best jeans for g8f

I am looking for jeans that look real for G8F. Most of the jeans I have found look painted on. I am looking for something that actually has the belt loops, buttons, flaps etc. My use case is stero images, so it is very obvious that the pocket isn't real when you are viewing it in stero.

I think the best jeans for G8F are Rhiannon's and RainbowLight's ones for G3F at Renderosity.  They fit fine on most G8F.  The ones in Outoftouch's G8F Mega Wardrobe at Daz are okay, but the front pockets are very weird.

These are by far my favorite jeans - https://www.daz3d.com/streetwear-jeans-for-genesis I've autofitted them to g8f and g8m without any notable problems (well nothing I have noticed atleast :) )

And while I know it is unlikely he make more clothing, I always cling to that small hope that maybe one day ;P

Those look great.  Weird that they don't show up on the @Stonemason vendor page.

While these are missing the actual mesh parts you are looking for, they are phototscanned so they look pretty real https://www.daz3d.com/3-pant-collection-for-genesis-8-females

Do you remember the names? they have a lot of different products.

I have looked through a lot of it and it can be hard to tell in 2D what details are only in the texture. I got tricked by one product that was just a geometry shell. My character had a permantent wedgie.

These are fully modeled - https://www.daz3d.com/blazer-and-skinny-jeans-outfit-for-genesis-8-female-s

They could be made even better with a little dForce...should be easy to do with a dForce weight map.

These have modeled pockets too - https://www.daz3d.com/looking-back-outfit-for-genesis-8-female-s

Adding dForce would make these even better...should be easy with a dForce weight map.

The belt on the Looking Back jeans is great, but the creases are a little too regular and, you know, bellbottoms.

The ones I'm thinking of are the ones in Rainbowlight's Cowboy for Genesis 3 Female and Rhiannon's Southern Nights outfit..  And for cutoffs, there's RainbowLight's TSS Outfit and Rhiannon's Hot Southern Nights.

Hey I like flare jeans...and they're coming back! Besides, nobody looks good in skinny jeans, lol. Adding dForce will typically help with realism on any clothing product. I use it on everything, even stuff not made for it.

I'd be wary of the G3F Southern Nights jeans...the butt has that same odd look that most 3D jeans have, I've noticed.

Not sure what you mean.  Daz is having a conniption, so here's a screengrab.

Daz calmed down, so an actual render.  They're not perfect, but I think they're fine.

Look fine to me too, it mostly depends on who is wearing them...

Got sleepy, but now I'm awake.  For comparison, the jeans from the Cowboy outfit.  These are a similar idea, but I think the texture is weaker.  I did a bit of tweaking of the materials, since they were even brighter originally.   Still better than most, and they have a nice belt with a cool buckle.  Added Horizon Vellus to the skin, because.

There are also, made for G8F, Rhiannon's Wallflower JeanZ, which are basically a rework of the Southern Nights jeans, but come alone, without top or belt or boots, but with an alternate texture with embroidered flowers, neo-hippie style.  If you don't care for the flowers, I think the Southern Nights are much better value.  What I liked about the Wallflower Jeanz is that there are also some funky third-party textures available for them, by Luna3D.

I don't have the Southern Nights jeans, so I was going off the promo shots on the page...and they honestly look like completely different jeans compared to your shots, so that's saying something as to the "odd butt" I was talking about, lol.

I've been looking for some cut-off jeans for G8F. I see so many promo shots with cut-offs, both with frayed and hemmed edges but can't seem to find them in-store (both big stores). I don't particularly like the jeans that pretend to be cut-off by switching-off the opacity on the legs. I'd rather have some which have the geometry end where the shorts end on the leg.

While I'm on the "I want" theme: I'm also looking for a realistic denim skirt with lots of morphs and dforce.

I tend to use jeans by Mada and IH Kang - everything by both of them have details like pockets modelled.

all of their pants also transfer really well (pants in general tend to autofit well)

these  are one of my go tos, lots of options not to wide or skinny,  dforce already set up, and they sit at a reasonable height on the waist (a lot of 3d pants still seem to be in the low rise era, skinny jeans are one thing, but buttcrack jeans... why?

Turns out I have a lot of jeans.  A non-exhaustive selection.  Anything without belt loops was excluded outright.

Looking Back, Nora, Fawne, Pack Leader from Daz.  Blue Angel, TSS, Exnem from Rendo.  The top is Vyktohria's new Alouette top.

thanks, very helpful. I think I like the Exnems best.

These shorts have caught my eyes repeatedly: https://www.daz3d.com/obj-ripped-tiny-jeans-shorts

Does anyone know if this is a static prop, or does it move with the figure's pose? This sounds not like it "When Posing, simulate the clothing in Marvelous Designer"

Yeah, they're a prop.  You get an FBX, the OBJ, a diffuse texture and a normal map.  You can parent them to a character, convert to a figure, apply an Iray shader and a smoothing modifier and they sort of move with the JCMs inherited from the character it's fit to, and the materials don't look right.  They got sort of wrinkly during the conversion, and the smoothing didn't help.  I picked them up for USD 2.20 a year ago and still haven't used them in a proper render.  They're not suited for a close-up, but they're better than expected and they look kind of cool.  Worth it if you can get them cheap, and they're not the worst jean shorts in the store, by far.

Seems they react a lot better to just HDRI lighting than spotlights.  I guess they're fine?  You can  apply Fit Control to them, so yeah.  Why not?

Thank you. Looks good to me, good enough to not stand out as "fake".

Nice shape, the backside is skin tight without looking like digital bodypaint. Waiting for a sale...

Since we're in Candy Land today here's some Candy Slims Jeans.  They're for G2F, but autofits fine to G8F (two left characters = G2F, right = G8F).  All except front pockets is geometry.

I've always been a fan of the3dWizard jeanz products. There's no G8 version, but the G3 version seems to work fine on G8 for me. The details are modeled, not texture maps, tons of morphs for styling and adjustment, several different length/trans maps.

They look nice to me, but what you say sounds complicated to my failing brain.
