Complete newbie and lost ???

Hi I am probably posting this in the wrong place so apologies in advance if I am.....
I am totally new at this so all I have is the basic Daz Studio with Genesis, Genesis 2 + female.
I want to purchase the superhero items in the store but im unsure what my best bet is?
I have seen the pro bundle which looks great but then I see other stuff I really like (poses and outfits) that say they are compatible with Michael 4 and V4, my question is....can you mix and match?
I have a great idea that uses the suit for genesis with a michael mask and pose?
will this work?
My main issue is do I just get the genesis stuff or should I invest in buying M4 and V4 bases and get their stuff instead
Im looking at spending around $500 so I want to make sure I get the most I can out of it
Thanks in advance, sorry if its a stupid question lol

Ok now I am looking at Michael 6, would I be wrong in thinking that everything from michael 4 and genesis will fit this character ???
if it does then my problem is solved and I will just buy M6 and V6 and get my add ons ?
There is a compatibility matrix, which may help you http://www.daz3d.com/compatibility-matrix
BTW we do have a New Users Help Forum http://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/97/
One of the CVs, who is always there helping people, did this http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24257/
The links in chohole's message will provide a lot more information about this, but the short answer is that any clothing made for Genesis can be AutoFit to Genesis 2 characters (including M6 and V6). It's a conversion process though, so results vary depending on the item and on the character, and may not be 100% perfect. Usually skintight clothing (like most superhero costumes) convert really well.
Clothing for M4 and V4 will not automatically AutoFit to M6 and V6, unless you buy the products Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male and Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Male. There is a workaround, however: Autofit to Genesis, save, then load the saved file to AutoFit to your Genesis 2 character.
Poses for one figure should work with pretty much any figure, though some manual adjustments may be needed.
If you have questions about the compatibility of a specific product, please provide a link to the product and we'll let you know.
Hope this is helpful, and welcome to the forum!
Speaking of which, that thing hasn't been updated in a while. They've yet to add Lee, Lilith and Mei Lin. Last time they did this, I had to submit a ticket to remind them to add Gianni, Giselle and Aiko 6. Looks like I'll have to send in another one.
Thanks for the replies, they have all been a great help.
Final question and I should be good to go....
Is this compatible with Michael 6??

The basic suit should work. I've had some issues with it but overall it's very nice. The morphs won't work with M6 but you'll be able to use them with the Genesis that comes with Daz Studio. Most of the rest is older vehicles and environments. If you have the money it's not a bad bundle to get a variety but if you're looking at only superhero stuff you're going to get some fantasy and sci-fi you may not need.
On the other hand superhero renders can really cover such a wide variety that everything can be made useful.
Smay has some truly awesome supersuits in his store. I've had some clipping issues on some M6 characters but I'm pretty new at this too but wow do they look awesome when rendered.
Umm, yo- might want to fix that so it doesn't confuse a newbie :) Victoria certainly isn't a male!
