Does any skin building script work AT ALL on 8.1?

Ok so Zev0's skin builder 8 does not work yet on 8.1 cause I have tried, even though he his supposedly updating his scripts. So, I tried the Ultimate Skin manager to see if it does cause it said it was updated for 8.1 and it is NOT working at all. It keeps telling me to use gen 2, gen 3 or gen 8 only, not gen 8.1. So here is my question: does ANY skin builder script work at all atm for 8.1? If not, I am just going to wait til gen 9 and victoria 9 which will probably release for daz 15 whenever that happens.

Create it on a G8 character then just copy the textures over.
The product is built to use the G8 base UVs so there is no point in using it on G8.1
Why not? You can then use that skin for a character using the new expression system or morphs made specifically for G8.1.
And you can always use Map Transfer to create a version with G8.1 UVs if you really want to use those.
I am saying there is no point modifying the script as there is no advantage over just running it on G8 and applying after to G8.1.
Zev0 said he was updating it, so having native access to textures in the 8.1UV format would be nice.

Ok so trying to reuse a texture from Genesis 8 female to Genesis 8.1 female, does not work. The mapping is different. It now has separate mappings now for the head and body. It is no longer called torso. So yeah we have to patiently wait for Zev0 to make his update for Skin Builder 8.
When you have created the materials on G8, save them as Material Presets that you can apply to G8.1. When you do this, G8.1 will use the G8 UV maps and the textures will be applied correctly.
Genesis 8.1 can use both Genesis 8 and 8.1 uv's. I may just wait til Zev0 releases an update. This seems more work that I really do not want to do. At least if and when skin builder 8 is updated, all the scripting and [stuff] will be updated that I can easilly make 8.1 skins. Thanks though.

But how do you make the UVs match up with the new setup on 8.1? Like there is no torso map anymore on 8.1 like is on gen 1,2,3, and 8. It is now separate as head and body. That is what I am asking cause if I try to reuse it on 8.1. it wont fit right and look all weird unless I am missing something here.
Edit: I mean I know you guys linked those how to tutorials on how to make [stuff] work good from 8 to 8.1 but is there no other easier way than that.
Put the Torso maps in the Body and Head slots.
Can also just copy the Torso on 8(right click Torso on Shader pane > copy selected surfaces(s)) and then CTRL+left click head and body on 8.1 right click > paste to selected surfaces(s).
That's how I do it anyway.
Save my work as Materials preset so I can apply to any character using the new PBR shader.
First apply to Gen 8 figure. Save as material setting. Load 8.1 figure apply new materrial setting.
It 100% does work; I speak as someone who has done it repeatedly.
Using a G8F material preset on G8.1F definitely should work.
What version of DS do you use? You need 4.15.x for a lot of things related to G8.1 to work.
the difference between the 8.0 and 8.1 UV map is something you have to scrutinize with a microscope to really appreciate, SkinBuilder textures look really really good on 8.1 using the legacy UV map. I've generated something like 15 full skin sets, it's far and away the best money I ever spent on anything DAZ/Poser related. The material files it writes out are compatible with both 8.0 and 8.1 with no modifications necessary, super super uper good value.
The relxation of the maps is broadly similar, I think, but they are intended to be used with very different relative sizes - the back of the head now has a whole map instead of just part of the body map - so the differences in practice are considerable..
I'm not exactly saying it's a worthless innovation but in this context, the skins output by Skin Builder are of very good quality when used with the 8.0 UV map. It's very hard to appreciate the difference in texture scales unless you're using some additional sharp-lined painted design that crosses the border, the skin textures themselves look great.
V3Digitimes just released a plugin that addresses that very issue, and it's on sale for only $16!
Honestly I'm just going to wait for gen 9 and when he makes skin builder 9 for it. From what I have been seeing, Gen 8.1 isnt much different from gen 8, except the expressions and face posing and having the one texture option automatically ticked. Other than that, not much different, so I'll wait til gen 9 like everyone else is doing and keep using gen 8 til then.
