There are a couple of short length Daz Studio compatible dynamic hairstyles here: http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/Store008.php
(The store seems to be on permanent halfprice fwiw).
I also did an alternate texture set for the Stephanie hair, for free.
I seem to recall that the PAs had trouble getting optitex-dased dynamics to play nicely when they tried to make longer hair.
Optitex is a high end clothing modeling software for real world clothing designers; at some point they entered into a partnership with Daz to make their clothing work in Daz Studio, then decided there wasn't enough money in it and abandoned the partnership to a clothing designer in Israel named Martin, who had bought the Optitex software for his dayjob and was willing to produce DS-compatible clothing models as kind of a hobby or sidejob. The other PAs you see credited on the dynamic clothes came up with designs, textures, and helpful scripts, props or tutorials to expand the line, but didn't have the software to make dynamic DS-compatible clothes from scratch, and at some point Martin, who did have the software, kind of dropped off the map, possibly due to health problems, so we haven't seen anymore dynamic clothes lately.
I believe Alessandro and Kendal are working on it with LAMH
Wow -- I do hope Martin is okay. Spoke with him a few times and he seemed like a cool guy.
From what I gathered, it costs ten grand to get the Optitex standalone so it was too pricey for most of us. Poser's dynamic cloth simulator is great and other vendors can create stuff for it. The Optitex partnership ended up being a bust I guess. Made people lose interest in dynamics altogether as there wasn't enough product and not enough people who could make said product consistently.
Sad though cause when it works, Dynamic Cloth is brilliant! I wonder if they could partner with the same folks who created Poser's Dynamic clothing engine so vendors can make cloth for it?. ( Maybe partner with Marvelous Designer?)
Hey and thank you for responding to me and clearing some of this stuff up ....
Now that would be sweet!!!!!
