I am considering buying just this outfit as apparently it includes a hair too, probably the best pick of the bundle which is rather expensive as a whole

    No problem.

I will say that the headress is nearly 2 million quads. My older machine, which can render several clothed G8 figures in a scene, cannot render via GPU the headress even if it is the only thing in an empty scene. I'd have to allow CPU remdering and I can only imagine how many days it would take to render.

I used Decimator to lower the model's LoD to 50% and then I could render it easily via my GPU.

So that probably explains why this 26 texture outfit is almost 829 MB to download. (I grabbed the outfit too because of the headdress and everything else included.)

Sounds like one of "those" items... Have you checked how the UV-Mapping/texturing has been done, ie. how big of a prosentage of a texture file is actually used for anything?

(every 4096x4096x24bit texture and/or map uses 48MB:s of memory)

Unpacked, the whole set is around 1g. 655 MB is the object file total for the headdress (it is 5 pieces parented together) and 174 MB is the object file for the collar (which is about 325K quads.
