Could All Character Promos Please Include One Headshot Without Make-up?

In my renders, I tend to go really easy on make-up.  I tend toward contemporary subjects, and make-up isn't always appropriate.  Now there are some lovely PAs whose promos show you what you get when you load a character heart, but there are loads of characters without a single promo, let alone  close-up without make-up.  PAs put work into their make-up, and it's obviously important to show that off, but it's also important to see what's underneath.  It's worth noting that this is a problem only with female-presenting characters.

I know Daz is not going to require PAs to do this, let alone enforce the requirement if they did, but it would help us to make better informed decisions.

I feel the same way...when I do promos for characters, I almost always go the no makeup/super light makeup route. Not only is it an aesthetic choice for me (I'm not big on makeup), but it also helps to see what a character's skin looks like. This is particularly helpful with lips I've found, as lipstick can often completely cover the texture.

    Yes. Definitely.
Also, with some characters most images are of cunningly lit action shots and artistic poses stuffed up with hair, clothes, props and scenery so that's it's really hard to tell what the basic face looks like.
The best of all reforms would be for Daz to require that the second image (ie after the exciting front page picture) of any product (not just characters) is the raw un-added-to un-scened product. No hair, no props etc.

Some PAs have this aversion towards standardized promo images or a fixed scene setting (lights, camera, etc). We've been asking for this for a long time now.

While I am big on maekup and a glamorous look, I do agree that there should be a promo image with just the skin and no makeup

Plus forgetting (?) to show the backside of clothing products is another common issue.

Yes! There's loads of times that the promo shots seem to ignore the back entirely, or the backs of several bits of the outfits.

Or things like having a seperate dress and a cape, but not showing the dress by itself.

Yeah... I remember one historical outfit that looked nice and decent, until you saw the back and the b-crack...

Yep. That's why I buy from them.
