dForce Classic Long Wavy Hair Winging Out Ward!!!

dForce Classic Long Wavy Hair Winging Out Ward!!!

I go to load the hair on a model and it loads like its Frizzed and wavy in the wind.

What could be the cause of this, cause when i first installed it manually it worked fine and now like this !

I can't even use the morphs selections in it to change to one thats normal or one with the hair just in the back.

  • dForce Side Layered Messy Hair, is doing the same winged out formate when loading it on to a model and can't not use it's morphs to change it to default or to another shape style.

these Hair models are from the same creator.

You need to hit the Simulate button in the Simulation Settings pane to let them drape.

So, is that what I should do every time I use that hair model or what?

cause I don't call thata good working model for hair, if you have to do that every time you want to use that type of modle hair from Linday.

cause I call that a waste of time and processing time as well, for doing renders,!!!

LMFAO, this old [unhelpful] forum board system Daz Studio is using, Truely "REALLY" is [not very good at all] and has not been upgraded or upodated since way back 2005!!!!

Hey Daz don't you think is time to change forum board software and buy something "NEW" and up to date to use ofr Forums help???

Look at how many times those [silly] forums board software duplicated my post, cause I did not do it!!

Yes, you need to simulate everytime you want to render in Daz studio... you can save if you really want to: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/382306/what-are-the-different-ways-to-save-a-dforce-hair-simulation  and https://thinkdrawart.com/how-to-save-a-daz-studio-dforce-frame-as-a-morph.  Seriously though, cut down on the coffee....  It took me 30 seconds to find this answer.... politeness is appreciated.

Yes, you will need to simulate the hair to get it to drape naturally (hence dForce in the name).  IMHO this is one of the best dForce hair products in the store (cloth based dForce that is). Once draped properly it will usually look better than other long hair models I have (non-dforce conforming hair).

Now maybe some dForce hair from other vendors has preset morphs for those who don't want to actually drape the hair. If so, I can understand your frustration and/or surprise (I don't have a lot of dForce hair). Honesty though, this hair has kind of spoiled me, it just works so well, and looks so good, to me it's worth the extra effort to drape it. I think the first attached image shows one of the big advantages of dForce hair. I don't have any hair that has the morphs to do this!!

Although this is a very simple drape compared to the last one, few, if any hair models with only morphs will look this natural.

  • I'm wondering if the simulation the same for all dforce hair? Or does each product have it's own individual simulation?

    No.

Every sim will be somewhat unique.Depending on the sim settings and what the hair impacts, or what impacts the hair, during the sim.

Then there is the dforce wind node.Create>New dforce Wind node...

Which is basically a small fan you can place in the scene to blow at the hair/clothes to give them a windblown look, or to help move them in a direction you want.

You can adjust the speed, falloff zone, and diameter.

Lot's of fun to play with.

I can lose hours just running wind node sims just to see what they look like :)
