Geometry Editor not showing existing groups

I am having an issue where the Geometry Editor does not show any groups in the main window only has a empty "Selection Sets".  There is the "Target Group" pull down and when a selection is made the adjacent pull down list approriat sub groups for example selecting "Surfaces" the choose group will show the surfaces of the asset. However new groups created "from selection" do appear.

The version of DazStudio I am using is 4.15pro, multiple assets even ones I've used the tool previously to hide geometry or redefine surfaces all behave the same no listing in main section of tool's window. Is this behavior an intended modification of the tool or a bug?

    Which selection mode (polygon, edge, vertex) is active?

    Was on edge, when I selected Polygon it behaves as I expected it should. I don't use edge or vertex selection very often so it totally eluded me that could be the issue.  Thank you for the response Richard really appreciated it.
