conforming props to a body

Hi there, new to Daz Studio, but getting the hang of it.

I'm trying to use older props with newer models (mainly Genesis 2) and I'm having some problems.

For example: I'm attempting to use an old pubic hair prop, but when the hips move, the prop stays put, either colliding with the pubic area and disappearing into the body or "hovering" above the area weirdly. But it looks like items attached to the hips are relative to the actual top of the waistline, not the pubis bone.

Since the prop was for A3, I'm not using the Conform function (That conforms it about 20cm INSIDE the torso, then I can't select it :) ) Instead, I'm changing the parent.

In Poser there was a "Inherit bend of parent" toggle... is there something like that in D|S? Perhaps I'm using the wrong function?

Thank you!

If you're using it on Genesis 2 Female you probably need to parent it to the pelvis bone specifically.

Once I have got an older prop like pubic hair fitted to a Genesis/2 (Pelvis) figure, I use File - Save As - Support Asset - Figure/Prop Assets. You need to give the prop a name i.e. Genesis2_Pubic_Hair and save it to a suitable folder. Give the prop a suitable name in the Product Name box and remember to check the box for Smart Parenting. When you want to use the prop again - it fits and this also works with rings and other body items. Hope this helps.
