I just got an email stating:

Grab Even More Free Items

Over the next 4 days, we’re giving away a Free Item for you to keep every day! Make sure to log in often, because we’re only giving each away over a 48 hour period. Make sure to log in daily and download each before it disappears!

 

Where are they?

Using the link in that email directs me to my Product library ...

 

Edited to add: oh, it's automagically added to my Product library. The only problem is: I am getting the dreaded Swirlie, no picture, no downloads. Which is not helpful for downloading it before it disappears ...

    I checked the store sorted by price, and freebies section, and don't see anything that seems new.

    So I guess it's more hidden, or has gone already?? laugh

    so it presumably is only downloadable once, not in your library afterwards

    Check your 'Account Messages' for new Freebies when you log in.

    I don’t own it and received no emails. I have never actually received a coupon or any special deal in an email in the many years I’ve been shopping at Daz...

    I believe I have seen other people get similar offers in the past, but they seem to be for individuals only and not store-wide. I am curious about what triggers it, if that is the case.

    Well, I was logged in before I got that mail ...  but I am one of those strange creatures that are logging out and delete Cookies and so when closing the browser. Which means that I am sometimes logging in twice or more on a day.

    Did you try to take a look at your product library? Did the uppermost item change to something you can't remember buying?

    yeah I certainly have gotten offers others haven't in the past too

    no idea how it is triggered though, maybe a statitician analyzing our spending habits and looking for an appropriate nudge?

    Ouch - in that case I am sorry I made others hopeful! Never ever got an individual offer like that before (and I joined Daz in February 2006 ...).

    I got a message last week. I received Gemma for Genesis 8 Female (a stylised character). I just assumed that everyone had received that same model for free. She isn't in my "Product Library" anymore, and she isn't on the site (so she really has gone).

    I made my account around one year ago, also during March Maddness. I got those mails at that time, never knew if it was something about being new, MM related or somthing else.

    No need to manual download, i think i tested DIM at that time and the items are still in library since then.

    ...the top item on the list is May Hair which I purchased yesterday, so nothing new there.  I feel I dodged a bullet with that annoying popup everyone else is complaining about and don't care to tempt fate by signing out and back in again.  Furthermore the only email I received from Daz this morning is the promo for today's March Madness sale theme.  Nothing in it about a freebie.

    I got this exact offer, maybe two months ago? I check in to the store everyday but was only ever offered a single asset, which was a cartoon style character. But it doesn't stay in your Product Library and it can be weeks before even downloading something I purchase. So this offer, and character, disappeared before I could do anything about it.

    yeah people unuable to download stuff immediately like I couldn't when I worked would be unimpressed.

    Kerya: Maybe you should submit a ticket? It would be nice if the wording was at least accurate- the email shouldn't promise more items if there aren't any. I would be pleasant about it, of course, but maybe they could use the heads up.

    bobster66: Was that item removed from the store as well? I can't see why they would "give" you something and then take it away.... that would be messed up if true.

    The last time they did this, nothing showed up for me.  Plus, I never really log out on my tablet so anything available at login would be missed anyway.

    I don't think I will submit a ticket - it's not really worth to hassle the poor customer support about something the advertising people cooked up. See that annoying popup ... 

    As for the vanishing thing: like I said, the mail and the message in my message center are telling me "Download it now or it will expire" ...

    Aaand an update: I downloaded it DIM and directly from the product library - it vanished anyway. Ooooopsie ...

    I better make sure to save those files before starting DIM again - in case it decides to delete them.

    It's not something I'm interested in usung so no real loss. The most annoying thing was the promise of four freebbies but only actually getting the one.

    I have been using Daz off and on for over a decade, but I never really paid attention to the sales or the forums until recently. At first, I was confused by the discontent in the forums. But the longer I stick around, the more it seems understandable. They promise you four items but only give you one... Then that one item disappears?! I wouldn't feel right using an item that's not in my product library. You have no proof of purchase, no legitimacy.... It just strikes me as kinda shady.  If not inherently shady, then at least shady lookingblush

    Like, does the rest of Daz know what the marketing team is up to? Who approved this?

    Don't get me wrong, I love Daz and I'm not going anywhere. But sometimes they seem like a troubled relative. You can love someone and still take issue with some of their behavior.
