Renders to cryptoart

Hello!

I came across "NFT" word and I started to search more about this. The new word of "cryptoart" is exploding on the internet.  I am interested to know if Daz3D renders are allowed to be sold on NFT websites?

Thank you!

I don't think there are any restrictions on using rendered images commercially. It's just the raw model data and textures you can't distribute.

What's the attraction to cryptoart?  I can find news articles on Google going back to 2018, so it doesn't seem to be new.

You're right, IMO. The concept has been around forever. Some of us may recall back in the 1970's when an artist named Andy Warhol was making a big splash in the art world. And some would look at his simplisitic image of a Campbell's soup can, or his other "pop art", and consider it a jaw dropping masterpiece. And some would pay millions of $$ for it, while the rest of the world just shook their heads in disbelief.

In my view this NFT stuff is nothing more than a digital version of Andy Warhol handing over a physical painting to someone in exchange for big $$. And since it was a physical painting it was fairly easily verified as being an Andy Warhol original. With NFT's it's just a bunch of pixels in an image, but that image can be verified using digital means.

What's making this so viral is that recently, an artist sold rights to his digital image (via NFT digital magic) for almost $70 million. Which means somebody actually paid $70 million for the ownership rights to an image that, as with Andy Warhol, might leave many scratching their heads. And of course some digital artists might see this as an opportunity to get a lot of $$ for their digital image. Others see it as a bubble that, like pop art, will burst and be just another fad.
