Is it normal that if you apply a full body G8F pose which affects the hands, hand poses you apply from other sets afterwards may not work correctly?

It happen.  I've had success selecting the hands and children and using zero selected items.  It takes a while, but usually works.

No, do you have some examples? Actually, I can think of one way - if one pose was using pose cotrnols (on the figure or on the hand) and the other was directly setting the bone rotations then applying oen would not clear the other but the two would stack (or hit the bend limits for the bone); as far as I am aware poses sets sold at Daz should not use pose controls.

Well it's strange, I tried to reproduce the problem with a new scene with the same character, but here it's working OK.  However, I saved the scene with the problem, and if I load it again I can reproduce it.  The two scenes are not quite the same though, in the saved one with the problem the character has hair, dforce clothing and shoes, in the test scene it only had the dForce clothing (I tested if the simulation might have caused it, but apparently not).  Will try to build an exact copy the original scene and see if it happens again...

That'd be great if it were true, but I've certainly encountered sets that do it - most egregiously not only doing that, but also making new pose controls that dial in that combination. (Bloating figure loads in the process).

I hear that. Used to be, you select the hand, held Shift, and selected thumb 3, and the whole hand expanded and was selected. Now it requires 4 separate moves to get to the same point: Select Hand, Shift, Carpal 4, right click, Expand Selected, and the thumb and fingers only open to the first joint, but the rest are not part of the selection. So, select them all again, and Expand again, and now 2 joints are selected. Do it a third time, and you have all the parts expanded, but none of the tips are in the selection, so you have to do it yet again. after all those moves, you've now gotten to the point where - from (at least) Victoria 2 and all the side characters throught Victoria 4 - you can get it using a click, hold the Shift, click again, and Bob's your uncle. Been this way since Genesis, and I'm guessing it wouldn't be a hard fix to correct.

What I do is select hand, Right-Click, Select Children.

Well I seem to be unable to reproduce the problem, so AFAICU it's something that may happen at random, for whatever reason.  And zeroing the hand fixes it in the scene with the problem I can see, so I'll just do that if it happens again.  Thanks!
