;) Thank you!
Yes, i was basing the morph and texture on the 'scowling look' he often has in the series. Amell the person is much more cheerfull! But the morph/texture combo did turn out to be much darker than the character, I need to adjust the brow and moustache - it's good the holidays are near, so I can have more time.
Dare yah. My wife's fav pic of me. 2005
MDD Olivia for V4.2 reminds me a lot of Kristin Bell.

The promos don't seem to intend it though, so it could just be me :D
I'd like more G2 M&F celebs. Leads?
You know what? I kind of see it - and then i don't. It must be the lips, I guess.
She's not a dead ringer, but she can be a good starting point for Veronica Mars!
if her eyes are closer together and smaller, and her nose is a little pointier!
The only freebie Genesis 2 celebrity morph I know of is Morena Baccarin: http://www.sharecg.com/v/73033/ I'd like more leads, too...
I thought it was possible to use GenX to transfer people to Genesis 2, or some such thing?
Yes, that's correct.
You can translate any V3, V4, or Genesis morphs to Genesis 2. Provided you also purchase the add-on packs. Look it up in the store:

Ok, VH Jenna ( http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vh-jenna/108060/ ) is driving me nuts! I totally recognize the actress and CAN NOT think of her name! Anyone know who I'm talking about?
I'd guess Tammin Sursok. But that's just me.
I'd guess Tammin Sursok. But that's just me.
Hmm... not the one I was thinking of, but I can see it.
I'd say Meighan Desmond as Discord from Xena.
I'm seeing a faint resemblance between this character: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sabby-nola/105290/ad
and this actress: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0778741/
But, as I say, it's very faint (and probably only me)
I see a subtle resemblance there. :3 - from the pictures on IMDb, she got Sloaned haha
Does anybody know of a decent lookalike of the french actress Sophie Marceau?
Ok, I'd really like to know. Apparently Daz Studio and Genesis 2 rule the roost. However, all the talented morph creators when it comes to celebs are virtually all poser creators.
How come ?
Currently most celeb morphs are made on older figures like V4 and M4, which are still the go-to models for Poser users. The Genesis and Genesis 2 figures don't work well in Poser for some.
Are we saying that Genesis 2 users are using V4 and M4 to create celeb morphs in Studio then ? Doesn't seem very likely.
Most likely it's because V4 skins can be used on genesis 2 with the right uv's and the morphs can be transferred with genx, but I don't think it can go the other way. Celebs seem to sell well so it would make sense to make for v4.
Highly doubtful. Most people don't have GenX (myself, included). I suspect it's as said: The vendors who specialise in it work within Poser.
Hopefully, there'll be some new people who work primarily in Daz Studio, so that we can get Genesis and Genesis 2 look-alikes for rendering fandom art with.
This one looks like Kevin Smith the Kevin Smith who played the part of Ares in Xena: Warrior Princess.

maybe Daz could improve backwards compatibility... i remember when Genesis was first announced i was excited because they promised it would be able to accept most clothes from generation 4. i guess they changed their minds with Genesis 2.
Changed their minds in what way? Genesis was backwards compatible with clothing for the previous generation out of the box; thanks to Mallen Lane, this was extended to 2 generations back. The same thing was done with Genesis 2.
It can be a bit hit or miss. Especially, from what I'm told, with footwear.
Most Genesis stuff seemes to work for Genesis 2, however (but even there, shoes can be problematic).
Footwear, especially heels are the main problem, most other things translate well, With a few select purchases in the store, you can pretty much mix and match gen3, gen4, gen5, and gen 6 textures, clothing and even morphs with Genx, which i would gather a majority of Genesis 1 and 2 users have.
Could be because poser was the only app for awhile before DS and many die hard poser users stay away from DS. DS and genesis 2 rule the roost here, not elsewhere, which makes sense.
I think a lot of it is that a lot of people started doing morphs with M4/V4, and they just stick to what they're used to. Personally, I definitely prefer the face UVs on V4/M4 to G2M/G2F/V6/M6. Same with the base mesh, especially around the face. When I started doing characters I heard from several people that said they preferred to see chars on the V4/M4 UV because it could be used for any subsequent bases as well so they get more diversity from it. You can stick a V4 char skin on a G2M if you have the UVs on your system.
All the clothing translates pretty well (dresses/robes benefit highly from using Sickleyield's rigs), except the stupid shoes... It's easier to just load them as props and not let them morph at all than it is to get them to look right.
P3D Lexie looks very, very familiar, but I cannot pinpoint an actress...
I think, she looks like Kaley Cuoco.
You don't need GenX. The Transfer Utility that comes with and in DS, and is therefore free, will transfer morphs from V4/M4/Genesis to G2F/M. If you have the V4 and M4 shapes and/or clones for G2F and G2M, a Transfer Utility transferred V4 or M4 morph to G2F or G2M is just as good as one done by GenX2. In fact, in my experiments comparing morphs converted from V4 to G2F and Genesis to G2F with GenX2 to those I'd already done with Transfer Utility before GenX2 was released, the Transfer utility converted ones were absolutely identical with the morphs converted by GenX2 on its highest accuracy setting.
The only downside to Transfer Utility conversions is that you have to spend a minute or so afterwards changing the label, limits, step-size etc parameters of the converted morph to match the original, and recreating any ERC links, whereas GenX2 does copy over those ancillary parameters as well, But that is easy and quick to do, and the actual transferred morph produced by Transfer Utility is just as good (in fact the same) as one done by GenX2 on its highest setting, and better than one done by GenX2 on its default setting.
So for anyone wanting morphs transferred from M4/V4 (or Genesis) to G2F or M but not wanting to spend the money for GenX2 - just use Transfer Utility in DS.
Between supplying Transfer utility (for morphs and more difficult clothes), autofit (for easier clothes), and map transfer (for textures), DAZ couldn't really have done much more for providing backwards compatibility with previous content.
