Props change position when rendered

I have created a simple earring in Blender, and imported it to Daz. (The full earring is more complex, but this simple case highlights the problem.) I've created a Rigid Follow Node on the geometry of the earlobe and parented the ring to it. All looks good in the Viewport. But when I render it, the ring twists to a different position. Does anyone know why?
I've gone back to Blender and made sure that all the transforms I made there have been fully applied in Blender before exporting via an OBJ to Daz. I had a copy of the figure in Blender, so that the ring was already in exactly the correct place when it was imported. All I had to do was create the RFN and parent the ring to it. No other adjustments were made.
(The full earring is a pendant, so it is very obvious when it is not hanging straight.)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry, no solution or answer, I just wanted to give this a signal boost.  I had the very same thing happen with a set of earrings from the store here the other day.  When I rendered in iRay they were specifically rotate at different angles then in preview modes.  I abandoned the render - something I find myself doing a lot these days as I come across more maddening weirdness.

I'll be curious if anyone knows why...

I have the same problem with a lip piercing.
Viewport, the piercing has the right position, but when i start rendering.. it rotates and the position is somewhere else.

Deleting and adding it again didnt help.. so annonying.

I have never seen it happen in iray, but had it happen in octane before when I was trying that free plugin out.
