Daz doesn't work on the latest Mac operating system.  It's not a problem with the new M1 processor, since it doesn't work on Intel Macs either.  The reason is "complicated".  We are promised they are working on a fix, perhaps later this summer,  the latest progress update was a few months ago. I am in constant peril because my Mac asks every day if I want to upgrade, and if I press the wrong button...

First you need to download DazCentral which is the first thing you will be redirected to when you click "download Daz Studio" on the web site. Then you download Daz Studio via DazCentral. It is a download manager.

Another way is to downloading an older download manager called Daz 3D Install Manager (DIM).

    https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info

It does the same thing as DazCentral but you will have more controls over what files to download and where they will be stored.

For new Mac users (and probably new Windows users too), there are two important things to remember.

    - Don't use shortcut (command-s) when you save your work, use Save from the menu instead.
    - Don't use shortcut (command-r) to initiate rendering, click the Render button instead.

Otherwise, it's very likely Daz will crash afterwards.

Be prepared, it's quite buggy and has a lot of quirks. But it's OK to use after I get used to it.

The shortcut issue has been fixed.

First I installed DAZ3DIM - then DazCentral - from their I tried Blender Bridge and Daz Studio but it stops at 86% installation, and Blender Bridge just flickers and stops installing. Is there maybe a folder I need to erase, maybe this is something about the path where its getting saved to? I have a Mac Studio Monterey...

Which did you use to install Daz Studio and the bridge - both Install Manager and Daz Central do the same job. Instal manager has been found to be more stable on the latest Mac OSes, from what others have posted.
