looking for a photoshop tutorial to make a scar (non bloody) on skin

i want to add a scar onto a character's texture map but all i can find is tutorials to make a bloody or horror scar. i'm just looking for a regular scar from a cut or surgury. 

can anyone point me in the right direction?
