Is there a way to group outfits on a character like you can group things in a scene?
So lets say if you have a character that has three different outfits.
You can select one set and group them but they lose the shaping to the character morphs.
But then if in the group i say to fit to character, itll bounce it out of the group.
What do you guys normally do in this case? Just have the same character but in several saved instances with all the different outfits?

Do you need to have all three outfits on the character at the same time? You can make Wearable Presets for each outfit and just load the one you need. One trick I use is to fit the clothing and make sure each item is also parented to the figure. Make the new Group with all the pieces you need for the one outfit (with a suitable name), making sure it get parented to the figure, then make a Wearable Preset that includes the group and everything in it, but do not include the base figure.
You can delete or hide the first group and repeat the process to make a second group and a wearable preset. Then do the same for the third outfit. You can include parented props like weapons or jewelry to the Wearable preset, but not to the group, since that would remove the prop from whichever body part it was attached to.
Now, having three outfits loaded at the same time might use up a lot of resources, even if you only show one at a time. Loading the Wearable Presets is a one-shot operation, and the groups keep it all in one place, so it is easy to remove again. Props have to be dealt with individually.
I don't recall ever losing fit when grouping clothing items, but if you have, select the item, go to Parameters > General > Constraints > Fit to and select the character.
As said above if the outfit is fit on the character it does not matter where it is parented so you can just put it into any group
yes if you try to fit an outfit on a character it will be parented to the character if the appropriate checkbox is checked so you have to unclick that checkbox or just move it back into the desired groups later
