Are thumbnails for DIM not working/downloading?

Curious problem - in DIM, I right click and choose "retrieve thumbnail" for the thumb to show when I hover over the product in DIM. But nothing seems to be happening. I have the file path set to C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1/DAZ Thumbnails in DIM, but nothing is showing in that folder (and of course, no thumb is showing when I hover over the product). Is the problem with me, or are thumbs not downloading or something?

    Thumbnails have never worked for DIM for me. Not sure why. I recently installed from the website again too, so it can't be version number.

    That's odd. They've always worked for me. But I have new computer, new install of DS and new install of DIM after a period away, so was wondering if my setup is wrong, or they just aren't downloading. 

    I even did a search of my computer for the thumb image and can't locate it at all.

    Just checked. The thumbnails are downloading foor me.

    Well, dang. Can't work this out. The file path for them is correct, but none of the ones I "retrieve" download there and I can't work out where they are going.

    Well, DIM still failed to download some of the thumbnails. To be fair, DAZ thumbnails are so inconsistent. Some ZIP packages do not have thumbnails in their runtime\support directory. The Connect server meta directoory also has its own set of thumbnails. I'm not sure from where DIM pulls these thumbnails from.

     Anyway, this is a good way for people who want to get thumbnails for their Smart Connect tab. Just add 1_ to the start of the filename.

    Yes there have been items that don't have the thumbnails, but I'm not getting any. 

    Dim pulls them from the thumbnail folder in DIM, which is where I have it set. But they are not showing up in that folder when I download them.

    If you have studio signed in, there is an ongoing problem where it is corrupting thumbnails, even on stuff installed by DIM. Apparently the fix is expected next week

    i'm not signed into Daz Studio, but it's the thumbnails in DIM that I'm having trouble with - thumbnails inside DS are working fine for me (I don't use smart content, I use the content library)

    Just got a bunch. No problem, other than sometimes being 2000 px high. Still getting the oversized thumbnails.

    DIM is using full-sized promo images (at least 1000 x 1300) for some of its "thumbnails". Some of these images (2000 x 2600 !!!) are even bigger than the ones you can see at the store. The regular thumbnails are just 500 x 650 or lower in size.

    I also dislike that some of these images have the "Staff Picks" label.

    I just batch convert them down to something manageable. At least those don't get replaced unless you specifically ask for them. The image handling has been messed up for months. Promo pics as thumbnails, thumbnails in the promo pics, and who knows why Connect is looking in the wrong place...

    And now they work! I didn't do anything, but suddenly, they are downloading and working. Go figure.
