Base Figure (Gen 8 Male) Deforms on Posing

So, just as the title says. I load the base figure, then when I bend the upper abdomen, lower chest or upper chest an extreme deformity occurs. In the upper abdomen it happens whether I bend forward or backward. In the two chest areas it's only when I bend forward. It doesn't happen when I pose in any other direction (twist, side to side).

How can I track down what's causing this, and fix it? I can't do any sort of meaningful scene with these deformities - they're too extreme...

This is probably due to corrective morphs or joint adjustments for a shape applying even when the shape itself isn't on. Do you have https://www.daz3d.com/anthropomorphs--manhippo-hd-for-genesis-8-male installed? If so try redownloading and reinstalling.
