I assume we cannot include own entries in the votes?
Nope, I forgot to add that, lol!

Thank you for stating it clearly. I voted. Besides, the links to EmmaAndJordi's department is wrong.
I just voted but it was difficult as always. So many fun and imaginative entries.
That was a tough one. Not just selecting a few out of the many good ones, ranking the few was also tough. Excellent work y'all.
I really look forward to the next round.
Totally agreed. I guess mine poses no competition, eh :smirk:.
It was a tough call indeed. Getting the categories right alone wasn't an easy choice. There were cases where I would have loved to pick "most emotionally touching" rather than "funniest", or "most creatively outside the box" rather than "best render"... I tried to sneak them into the available categories, but geez... There was just so much creative thinking there. Love this contest. ;-)
EDIT: "outside the box", not "out of the box". Really need to get some sleep... although technically, there were some awesomely creative out of the box renders as well...
Totally agreed. I guess mine poses no competition, eh :smirk:.On the contrry, without revealing my votes till voting is closed ("The ZDG picks", lol). Everyone that entered the competition, had at-least one render in my short-list, that I had to narrow down to ten.
beyond that, There are two different categories as far as I am concerned. Funniest regardless of render quality. And best, render and artistic representation. No render was entered twice anywhere, and no individual's works was entered multiple times in each category. Others may have different standards that they vote by as individuals, and still as a total of all votes entered by everyone,
(partial judge Olympic Oath). In the name of all the judges and officials, I promise that we shall officiate in these... --- Games with complete impartiality, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them in the true spirit of sportsmanship...
Pleas correct me if I misunderstood the categories Totte.
(EDIT)
It's a good thing I don't have any entries my self, it makes voting easier to sort out. Besides, choosing a single EaJ item would be difficult. One in particular dose not appear to be available any more.
(EDIT 16nov2014) "O" it is now G2F, thanks so much.
Awesome entries. In all of my snot, I never did go through and comment on them all, but I really, really enjoyed these!
Got my votes in. As difficult as it is to vote, I love going back through the entries.
Abendwind, KaribousBoutique, zarcondeegrissom - I agree with everything you said. I have a feeling the current categories are a bit too narrow. For instance, the emotional picture of that lizard girl sitting on the windowsill. My entry poses no competition to yours, but I am satisfied with it. Crazy collection of items I somehow managed to put together, the lighting was fine to me and I learned how to use primitives (though putting the letters on it through texturing was such a pain - they kept getting distorted - that I had to put them on through PowerPoint; is it possible to export a texture template of a primitive out of DS?)!
Made in ms paint for cubes, it is kind of simple. Squares 2 high, three wide. the bottom left is the front surface.
Here is an example I used for a comparison render for the different A6 figures. (EDIT) and another for a 3TB drive used in another. You can do rectangles instead of squares, tho they must ALL be the same size, and in that layout (2 high, 3 wide).
(EDIT2)
"O" and if you turn off "Smoothing" in the surface tab, at can make some things less blurry.
"O" one last note on Cube texture maps for Daz Studio. The six square map can be of any size (baring ram limits). That is why I myself have yet to find a "Texture template" of sorts. And the sides don't match the other layout for a 2-high three-wide template.
In my textures thread, The galaxies on the backdrop of the first two renders were from Hubble (HST). There ought-right enormous at 2x height and 3x width (7228x10842 pixels, 24bit BMP, ouch).

I had done that In my complete noob-ness, I know better now.
(EDIT), The tiled floor in the test chamber is only a hundred pixels across. That includes the floor in the Undergarment Armor joke render in my gallery. The trick was to turn smoothing OFF, and only have 90-degree angles parallel to the texture-map pixels.
If you're using DS, one of the easiest ways to add lettering to a primitive (or anything else!) is to use the layered image editor. So long as you have ANY image applied to the primitive (even something you have no intention of using) you can select "use layered image" from the diffuse image selector. Create a layer and add the image with your lettering on it -- the LIE allows you to move/scale/rotate your layered image. If your text layer has a white background, use the "multiplicative" blend mode. If you have a dark background and light text, use the "additive" blend mode. The LIE also ignores transparent areas of .pngs, in which case the default alpha blend mode works fine.
I believe this was true for me as well...excellent work, everyone! :)
I thought I would vote, but either the voting page isn't working, or I'm not understanding how it works.
I entered my Daz user name under 1, marked number one on the entry I considered best, marked number one on the entry I considered funniest, then hit submit. I got a message saying, "This question requires an answer." What's the deal?
You need to choose four entries and a tiebreaker in both categories.

Thank you for your reply. Maybe I am just dense, but that confuses me even further. Maybe that's why I haven't voted before.
Finally voted (I don't know where the time goes?)
I agree it was tricky (again!) to narrow down many fine entries - good luck to all.

In case you are still wondering what to do:
You need to pick the five entries that you think are the best then rank them 1 to 5 and mark the button in the appropriate column (5th place is called "tiebreaker" on that page)
Then pick the five entries you think funniest and rank them 1 to 5 and mark them likewise.
I think the message about requiring an answer is because you didn't make a total of 10 marks in total.
Oh, ok. I guess thats where my confusion comes in. To my way of thinking, best and funniest are superlatives, and there can therefore be only one. May be clearer to say, vote for your top five in each category. Thanks for the explanushun!
I somehow missed the confusion here, glad it was sorted out.
Totte, is that hair :ohh:, it's a different look for you, I like it.
Totte marches to the tune of a different drummer. As a Bald Wizard, most are bald only where he has hair and have hair where he has none. Just think of a film negative... this is a bald negative. But don't worry, I'm sending him some money for some more razorblades. :)

I happened to get the wrong ingredients for a potion so it's not hair, it's unwanted hair growth.
Btw, I won't be able to tally the votes until my internet connection is restored.

Poor Totte! Just like in "Asterix"...

I think it was lack of strawberries ;-)

Be happy! You didn't get the eyebrows, ears and nose potion.
