Hello there. On first glance this looks like it was not installed correctly. Have you tried re-installing the product?

How did you install the product?

That path is for DAZ Connect installed ones, ie. ones installed inside DS with "Smart" Content, which uses non-standard installation paths.

Looks like you're using Daz Connect. There's been a lot of issues with it lately, so I'd recommend uninstalling it and reinstalling it through DIM.

    duplicate threads merged

  • I did re-install, still getting the same error.  I tried to install it through DIM and the product isnt even listed for installation.

Did you remove the product within "Smart" Connect before trying DIM?

Not only does "Smart" Content use non-standard paths for installation, it also steals priority over any other method of installation -> If there is even a hint of installation via DAZ Central/"Smart" Content, everything installed by other means is ignored.

Notice the non-standard character in the file path shown in the screenshot. Is that another case were D|S on international versions of Windows can't handle particular characters in path names?

Nicely spotted... Yes, that is definitely one possible culprit.

Yes, I reproted this soon after the product was released - it did get an update which slightly improved the situation but it still didn't work through Connect. As noted above, uninstall within DS by right-click on the product thumbnail in Smart Content>Products or the container in Content Library>Products>L and install through Install Manager or Daz Central for now.

I did a manual install when I bought it and I've never had any problems with it. If all else fails and you're feeling brave, try going manual.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

It seems to be an issue with the non-HTML-safe characters. I don't know if it's an issue with reading them from the hex codes at install time or if they are not being turned into hex code in the right way, but hopefully the reports have made their way to the right people and it is being looked at.

...OT:  but after that video finished this was one of the selections in the window, one of my favourite scenes from this film.

My namsake's favourite film (and character) too.

It works on my computer, but it consists of one big object with everything, one can see in promos.

All or nothing and there in no sky or any other hdri included - just lake environment and cameras.

As a matter of naming conventions, I would prefer to not have to deal with any special characters in the file names.

Just combination of letters: small and capitals, together with digits should do.

Even usining of spaces in file names should be prohibited.

Using _ (underscore) or capitalization of the words in sentences will do, like in

    MyExampleOfFileNameWithManyWords1_2_3

Such naming convention will simplify handling of the file names across different computer systems and its national versions.

Rendered with Skies of iRadiance looks great - https://www.daz3d.com/skies-of-iradiance-high-sky-hdri-bundle-for-iray

I am glad, I have bought it.

It's actually very light on RAM because all the trees and bushes are planes (efffectively billboards). I don't know about VRAM use because I'm a CPU renderer (my GPU is too old for DS 4.15) but the maximum RAM usage for Daz Studio (scene only, no other figures loaded) is only 3 GB 5 GB or so while rendering.

Edit to correct numeric typo - sorry!

    ...thanks, Picked it up.

When used in the background of a scene, billboards are a nice way to save on resources. I often use the trees and bushes from Econmantics as they blend in and render very well even in Iray.  Haven't tried any of Riversoft's Now Crowd billboards yet.

Kyoto Kid - sorry, I mistyped - I meant FIVE GB not 3 - I was typing in the twilight I fear.

I sincerely apologise if this affected your decision to buy. I hope you'll still be able to use the set.

..nah, I decided to get it anyway given the price.  5 GB even with billboards, is still a bit high, however it is a large setting.  Thankfully I have 12 GB of VRAM.
