Menu collapsing

Lets say, I am adjusting a hand. I open the Files>Poses>By Region>Hands menu. I apply a menu, and fiddle around with the hand a bit.

But the moment I click in the screen, the menu collapses back in. If I want to try some other hand poses, I have to go back and open everything. This really slows down my workflow. Is there a way to keep the menu open?

I think you are talking about the category lists in one of the panes - probably Smart Content - and then applying a preset, rather than about menus. For me the category list doesnot collapse unless I change the selection in the scene.
