Sand prop in Seaside Set

HI
I have the seaside promenade and props and one of the promo images shows the props on the beach with the toy spade stuck in the sand. Does anyone know where to find the sand or, if not, how to make it?
Maybe a water surface prop with a tiled sand texture applied might do the trick - if I can find such a prop.

It may be one of the ground props from one of the Carnival sets. I don't have access to my DS runtimes here so I can't check.
Ahh - I looked at the Carnival bundles when they were going for a song and thought - "i'll never use them".
Meanwhile, I've been playing with making ripples on a flat plane using the DForm tool (spline editor). It works but I have to get the scale right for the ripples and sand texture tiles. So far I can't get the ripples small enough to make the sand grains look realistic.
There is a sand prop in the (currently) free 'Day at the Beach' bundle which could be of some use to you...

Hope that helps :)
Thanks
I do have that but it doesn't load for me. I've just tried to reinstall it with DIM but same problem. Here's the error:
This is the result of the textured plane I made ...
Hiya,
It's the beach from this set: http://www.daz3d.com/beach-pod
It's just not mentioned on the product page.
Anna
Thank you Anna. :)
I'll grab it while it is on sale.
...the same image also shows the beach huts which are a separate set.
I fail to see what point you're making? :ohh:
Promo images throughout this entire website & other 3D stores include products in promos which are not included in the packages advertised. It's called cross-promotion and is a widely done practice. Whether it's clothing on characters, or scene fillers like plants and the like. It helps grab customers attention to other possible things they could purchase. Or showcases additional items which may complement the product they're already thinking of buying. *shrugs*
Glad to be of help, and I hope you enjoy the set. :)

I agree and it makes sense to use whatever props necessary to make an attractive promo image (and yours are some of the best). Still, a mention in the description of the other props/packages used can't hurt.
I have the Beach Huts too, by the way. I'm just pondering on constructing a nice "family day out" scene. :)

This set was released before DAZ started popping the 'what was used in the promos' section on the product pages, with the direct link to the product used. Even mentioning it in the description doesn't always work, as some customers don't even bother to read it. Or, stuff ends up getting missed out due to human error. (like the beach in the beach POD has been missed from the product page).
Yes indeed. I'm guilty of not reading all the details myself. I've bought things which require other products and then been annoyed that I find I need to buy something else before I can use it. I've been buying from this store for almost 10 years and I still make mistakes.

Yeah we're only human after all. Even DAZ make's mistakes. Until the time we can have robots doing all the store stuff, then there'll be no mistakes. haha.
If you could post your renders too this thread, so I can see them that would be awesome. It gives me motivation to keep working to see all the beautiful pictures people make with the models we make.
I will but I have another project to finish first (actually to start and finish). My renders are very modest - I'm not the artist that many here are. I've seen the galleries on DeviantArt and I wouldn't dream of putting mine up among those. I'm retired and this is my hobby. I aim for a natural look so I don't go for glamorous girls or bright, shiny surfaces. Nor do I do SciFi or Fantasy - no half-clad female warriors for me :) Not that I have anything against half-clad, or even unclad. I just have no use for the warrior queen clothing that seems to dominate the shop here.
Unfortunately, while solid props, buildings and such are ideal for this medium, organics and clothing are sometimes difficult to adjust so they look natural. I only render with Reality/Luxrender for that reason. I find it almost impossible to get the lighting set up for 3Delight renders which come close to Luxrender.

..the point is as this OP of this thread mentions, it can be misleading and confusing. unless it is mentioned that other components (in this case the sand plane which was also shown with the huts) are actually separate products that could even have been noted so on the image. Granted, clothing, hair and morphs/skins require a figure to show them off. However even so, product pages on Rendo frequently mention that figure or a certain prop is not included, the same could be done here.
Product pages here used to list "other products/items used". Now they rarely or no longer do.

We try to keep the text to a minimum on images - and would always ask people to refer to the 'Whats included/Features' section of the product page to see what's in the product.
Yes, that's the bit I meant when I said the "description". I've now developed the habit of looking there, especially now that it is so important to me to see what morphs and movements are features of clothing.
Just to be clear, I didn't start this thread as a complaint - I just wanted to know where I could find the sand prop, which Anna kindly let me know. I'm quite happy with that response.
...in the current site format, the layout of the "What's Included" section is difficult to look at. Didn't it used to be just a single column before the change?
Also the product descriptions themselves don't seem to give a much detail as they used to. Is there a size limit to this now?
