Just curious. In what way is this bedroom Indian?

And why is it #4? There's another one without a number, I assume that's #1, but where are #2 and #3?

Judging by the creator's good, but stiff English in the description, I assume they are a resident of India who made bedrooms in the same design as those found in their country.
  • It has a door!!!!

Nothing specifically regional that I can see, but that can make it more rather than less useful. I'd say having a bedroom opening off the outside world rather than a corridor is the thing that could be the strongest indicator of regionalisation.

    Richard.

That product does not make any sense to me. An isolated bedroom? Really? Just a door to the outside? No door to any corridor? No adjecent bathroom?

Not all bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. None in my house do. In colder climates, it is unusual to have isolated bedrooms, but I have been to areas of the world where that is not the case. Crete is one area, and seen various home building programs about houses in rural Italy and Greece where they do this too. Occasionally there are verandas outside the room, but not always, depending on aspect. If North facing the chance of a verandais lower. The rooms usually open around an atrium or enclosed courtyard garden which minimises security risks. So, it occurs, but not common in colder climes, though.

    Regards,

    Richard

Did a search for Indian Bungalow, and apparently it's not that strange.

Up here, we need to minimize the heat loss through exterior walls, but when that is not a problem, why not make all the rooms separate.

At least it has the word 'Bedroom' in the title, so it stands a chance of being found in a search.

As others have said, I think that the fact it opens onto an external verandah (or at least the outdoors) rather than onto an internal landing or corridor is the characteristic that makes it Indian.

I like it, and have plans to use it as a campus student accommodation bedroom (changing the door and removing the window on that wall to make it an internal wall). The cupboards over the bed to save space are what you see in such rooms, and I can throw in an additional desk. It has a nice fat duvet.

That would really make it a perfect place to put teenagers in - Push in and lock the door laugh

Although... Missing the bars on the windows...

It looks like a movie set bedroom not a complete house or an one room house. OMG there are country based specific bedroom! I wonder and I don't know my bedroom is similar to which country?

It looks like a cabin in an old-style holiday camp with small one and two-room bungalows spread across the grounds and a communal toilet and shower block.
