Genesis itself is only backwardly compatible and not universally compatible?

I have a couple of new projects just starting and have refuted my DAZ Studio and my libraries. I'm a bit confused about what certain product descriptions mean, however, as I try to update some of my library features.

Here is a sample product description. Please note I'm not calling the product out, just using the description as a way to demonstrate the area of my confusion.

Artist: Countess Silver WildDesigns
Compatible Figures: Genesis 2 Female
Compatible Software: DSON Importer for Poser, DAZ Studio 4.6
Required Products: Advanced Ambient Light Aiko 6

If the product is compatible with the Genesis 2 Female, why is Aiko 6 a required product? I thought Genesis was a path to figure creation that allowed one to move certain elements like wardrobes back and forth between and among characters created from the Genesis model. Is Aiko 6 a separate character or a series of specific morphs which added to the Genesis morphs creates a new character. That would mean that Genesis itself is only backwardly compatible and not universally compatible?

Hope there's an element of clarity in my question :) Thanks so much!

Aiko 6 is a shape morph for Genesis 2 female, basically. Clothing items and such for her will work on the default Genesis 2 Female, but characters and texture sets will not. Characters will be built around her specific features, and texture sets may use the UV maps that come with her instead of the default UV maps for the Genesis 2 Female figure.
