Geometry shell

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to use Geometry shell as it relates to Geo-grafting? I did a search but I can not find any information or tutorial on how it actually works. All I find is information on the Wet Body Geometry Shells but it's not helpfully at all.

Thanks guys.

I've been wondering the same exact thing! I imagine that you are referring to G2 Genitalia. Since it cuts a section out of the hip to fit properly, the Wet Body Geometry Shell covers the empty area and ignores the geografted genitalia. You can add the genitalia separately and add the wet body to that, but as soon as you try to fit it to the character, the wet body disappears.

So far I haven't gotten it to work either. What I have been doing as using the free Karina genital prop from sharecg.com. You have to use the GenX plugin to make it work with G2F characters, but it does come with some genital morphs for the base figure, without the need for geografting. It is a bit limited though. I'd like to see if anyone has gotten this to work with geografted items, in general, myself.

I have been wondering about something similar. I obviously can't show screen-shots but I've tried on Genesis with male genitals and, no matter what order they are loaded, the geo-shell includes the gens.

This is a problem because I want to hide the geo-grafted gens under clothing but hiding creates a gaping hole. This hole extends beyond the top of garments such as underwear or swimwear. Another problem is that clothing tends to cave-in to the hole.

So I thought that I could try creating a geometry shell just for the body but not covering the gens. This seems to be impossible. The two solutions I have so far are:

    1. Use M4 gens (DAZ or Jepe) and position correctly before parenting to Genesis. Problem: getting textures to match.

    2. Have two versions of the same Genesis character, one with and the other without gens. While this works, it tends to be a PITA in many circumstances.

Any suggestions welcomed. By the way, I don't have any G2M characters so I can't speak to that. I have G2F/V6 and keeping up with all her products keeps my piggy-bank empty.

Hi  it is very improtant and interesting problem for me too,,

then I think,, about gen2female and gen,, or genesis and female gen,,
    there is no problem.
usually default gen UV must fit to gen hip UV positon.

Then if you apply geometery shell " gen2 with gen(fit to)" , it actually cover all area.
and make surface group hip and gen too.

it is same about "wet body shell", but it can not apply texture (opacity ) for gen area .
then need copy hip surface mat, and paste it on gen area surface of shell.

it is same about each part sweat shell. you can copy mat from hip surface then paste it to gen area too.
    (keep gen "fit to" Actor)

    (edit to add about UVset)
And if you find problem when you copy hip surface to gen of geometry shell,(eg wet body shell)
you just need to use same uv set of hip, for gen part too. (wet body use vicotria5.

if your actor use another UV eg meirin etc,, and you copied and paste hip to gen for actor surface, (not shell)
after that if you add wet body geometry shell , now only gen part UV keep meirin.
but another surface group are victoria5 UV (hip too) . so that it happen.

of course when you need to adjust postion, you select both surface (hip and gen) then use offset X Y
or use layer image editor then keep same postion off set, or scale,,,,, it should work.(at least for me,,)

But the problem should happen, If the geo area UV can not fit connected area UV .(you can not use same texture for both group )
    eg gen2male and gens .

I do not think there is good way, without you manually make texture by other 3d tool,
which can directly peinting. ( no need to care much about UV of each surface ,,and seam.)

or you may need to make texture, with 2 uv maps compare in 2d tools
(I can not do it well at all,,,, then just use blender to painting body with gen ;-)
thoug I have not tried opacity map for sweat at current,,,,, ,,,)
