dForce strange attraction

Why is it that dForce cloth is attracted to fingers, etc., which are some distance away from the drape? I always make sure that hands, etc., are not intersecting or in the path of the drape but the cloth weirdly gets dragged over to a hand or even some non body part.

You can hide the hands and other body parts in the Scene tab and the dForce item will not get attached to those.

You can also turn off Visible In Simulation, which saves having to turn the visibility back on to render.

Ah, I wonder why I never realised that the visibility-off option works for body parts!

I have always, for some reason, assumed that if a figure is Visible in Simulation, then all of its parts are also visible regardless of that setting. Maybe my other assumption is wrong too: that all parts of a group of objects need to be turned off individually, my assumption being that turning off Visible in Simulation for a group doesn't apply to the constituents of that group.

Nevertheless, that strange attraction is still a mystery but thanks for the workarounds.
