Put a G8F and a G8.1F both in the scene. Apply the geoshell to both. Then copy the Torso material of the G8 geoshell into the Body and Head materials of G8.1. Now it works and you can delete the G8 (and save the now 8.1 friendly one as a new name if you want so you don't have to do it again).

Thanks for the tip.  I've a bunch of geoshell products like Vyktohria's Skinz, and was just trying to figure this out yesterday.  It would be nice if Daz could come up with a solution that didn't require waiting for another character to load, what with the Loyalty Penalty and all.

Maybe I'm just reading this wrong but I still can't make the geoshell work on G8.1F Head area

  • Copy the body material to the head area and set the UV to Base Female and not Base 8.1 Female.

    Hello,

I can't do it. I have an 8.0 female figure and an 8.1 female figure (both out of the box, without any additional materials).
Both have the same geoshell (Wet skin geoshell). The 8.0 figure is okay, with the 8.1 figure the body and head are white.
I choose the geoshell of the 8.0 figure. In the Surface area, I choose Surface/Torso and click "Copy selected surface(s)".
After this I choose in the scene panel the geoshell of the 8.1 figure. In the surface aera I choose Body and Head - Paste to
selected Surface(s). However, the areas remain white. I've tried the same via menu edit / copy selected surface(s) and
edit / paste as well. No success.

    What am I doing wrong?

Ekke2020, what version of DS are you on? Any time I see "8.1 is white" I go to version of DS first. Because it needs 4.15.

Ensure that the surfaces (Body and Head) use the same shader as the original Geoshell. So, if it's Iray, apply to those surfaces the Iray Uber Base Shader (which you can find in your content library > shader presets > iray > DAS Uber > "!Iray Uber Base"). Now you should be able to paste the torso surface from your G8 to your G8.1 Head and Torso Surfaces.

Yes, it works - thank you very much.
