Maybe its here deep somewhere but i cant find it.
is there a list or something explaining every (folder) which needs to be included when you want to take something you created in Daz studio (Original Character) out of Daz to pack up for distribution ? (hey that would be a cool new feature..the export for Distribution button..lol)

Distribution of figures may not be possible for legal reasons, but there is an option to collect assets in your scene.

    File>Save As...>Support Asset>Figure Prop Assets...

Im talking about character's that I created from scratch (Modeling in maya then rigging and turning them into poseable character's in DAZ, my Razberry figure to be specific )
Not modifying or morphing someone else's stuff or Daz products.
the save as only saves it to the library for me to use it again..I'm trying to pack up my figure(100% created by me) and upload him to the web.
but thank you anyway I guess i should have explained it better..

    found it here

I would suggest creating a new, empty folder outside your current content directories and in DAZ Studio setting that as a DAZ Studio Content directory. Create a \Runtime\Textures folder in that and place the textures for your model somewhere in that (usually a folder named for you and in that a folder for the character. Create your character in DS, then go to File>Save as>Support Asset>Figure prop Asset and in the options dialogue make sure the Base path, at the top of the dialogue, is set to your new folder, and set the other values as required. Save the character preset somewhere in the new folder too. Add a readme (in the ReadMe's folder, including the spurious apostrophe) and you should have everything gathered together ready for zipping up.

    Hi chk2033,

From what you've said I'm assuming you have created a new figure?

You would need to have the correct data folders for your figure. They can be found under Data\your name
You would also need a .duf file to load your character and any presets you have created for it.

Not knowing what you have already done it's a bit hard to be more specific. Richard's suggestion is a good one but if you have already created and saved your figure you may have to go hunting for the files. Glad you found some info on the site.

    thank you..
and he is already 100% done ,I'm tired of posing and rendering him so time to move on to another figure..lol
but i saved him in the default place.? I don't know Studio is very new still to me. this is where he is

    C:\Users\Main\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Figures\Razberry.duf
    and here i see also
    C:\Users\Main\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\data\TheDarkerSideOfArt\Razberry\Razberry\Morphs\TheDarkerSideOfArt\Base
    and here
    C:\Users\Main\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\Textures\Razberry
so i guess all of those locations need to be added?

Yep...that's right! I don't know if you've done any pose files or clothing though...you may want to get someone to test it for you before releasing it or submitting it to a store just to make sure everything is there.

Yes he does have around 8 poses and 4 or 5 different textures but i didn't do them because i haven't figured out how to save out the different texures on him (as opposed to changing them manually in the surface tab)
and the poses...lol you just reminded me..
    thanks

To save textures go to File\Save as\ Materials Preset.

    Poses are File\Save as\Pose Preset

Generally with DS people save the textures inside the folder for the character.

    IIRC People\Charactername\Materials or Characters

    or

    People\Charactername\Poses

It just makes them easier to find.

    Hope that helps...
