Gen 8.1 products for Gen 8

Hello Everyone,
New Daz3d artist here. Just got a quick question. Can I use a product that is labeled for Genesis 8.1 for a Genesis 8 model? For example, items like clothing and tattoos.

Clothing probably, though it may take some fiddling. Anything like tattoos, which are usually maps that wrap around the figure, can be a little trickier as the 8.1 figuers have a new, optional, set of UVs (way of wrapping maps around the model) which isn't available on the older version and use new grouping for the back of the head and the trunk which may cause presets to fail to apply to those areas on Genesis 8 - there are workarounds.
