Issue with search feature and looking for a product

I was trying to search for a bus station, that I knew was on this site awhile ago (it was maybe a 1930s-40s style?), but am having a hard time finding it, so any help would be appreciated.

Anyway, the main point of this post is an issue I am running into when unchecking the "Hide Items I Own" box.  When I leave the box checked, I get a narrowed field of products, as I would expect.  However, when I uncheck the box, I get pretty much everything in the catalog. As an example, when I search for bus or station, I get Bolina hair as well as other hair products and characters, which I own (yet the "hide items I own box" is still checked).

Is this a known issue? If not, I'll open a ticket, but am I the only one having this issue?

One thing to note is that the checkbox can be thrown out by refreshing the page, though that isd usually showing unchecked but in effect. The search is currently returning hits for any single word in the search term, not all, so it can be overenthusiastic - in this case I'd search for just bus or just station.

The search engine is utterly hopeless. I just use Google instead, eg:

If you were looking for this bus station (40's Bus Station), it is no longer available. The store search is useless (and this after improvement), though less useless than the forum search.
