I have read everything and tried everything that i know of. I still can not add a Animate motion preset to a character. I am not new to animating software and everything else seems to work. What the hell am i doing wrong. i can pose and make motion that way. but i just cant add motion presets. not sure how to run puppeteer either but about to read up on that.

What do you mean by 'motion preset', do you mean Aniblocks that come free with DAZ Studio, or something else?

Aniblocks can only be used with the Animate timeline. You get a free 30 day trial of the complete Animate 2 plugin, but after that, it reverts to Animate Lite. Aniblocks still work with it, but some of the functions, such as creating your own aniblocks are removed.

To load the pane, go to Window > Panes )Tabs) > Animate and you can dock the window with the timeline pane at the bottom of the interface.

These aniblocks were designed with V4 in mind, but they still work with Genesis. Drag and drop any aniblocks that you want to use into the Animate timeline. With a figure selected, if you hover your mouse over the Aniblocks in the Content Library, the figure should move anyway.

If you don't see Animate in Window > Panes (Tabs), what version of DAZ Studio are you using? Help > About DAZ Studio will tell you the exact version number.

Does it say DAZ Studio 4.7 Pro at the top of the interface. If the word Pro is missing, that may be the problem.

Can you also go to Help > About Installed Plugins to see if Animate is listed there?

Again thank you for your help. as i looked into animate 2 the trial version is no more. but why do they have animate and animate plus with presets in the content and smart content folders. there should be some preset animation in here. if not even though its beautiful software i go back to ICLONE for animation.... at least there are basic motions available. its just moraly wrong to have it in content and tease me to death without buying something. and trust me that message to daz is happening. i guess i can delete it myself but its the point of being good easy software to access at least what is there. and if it wont run it should tell you why not just error reading file, being so lost in the loop made me want to bail on it a long time ago. ok so maybe i am cheap and dont want to pay for more to just have basic content. ok so im lazy i need to make my own motion. i guess that is why i have iclone. all motion is easier even without presets. i guess if i want still shots to render this is great. i just want more daz lol .

As has been stated before, there IS a free version of Animate that comes with DAZ Studio, and the free Aniblocks work with it, you do not need to buy anything, there is no catch.

Why Animate is not showing up for you is something that needs to be investigated.

I have the paid for plugin, so there are things that I cannot test. Animate2 should revert to Animate Lite (the name shown may not change though) after the 30 day evaluation period. Some of the features are removed as previously mentioned.

I did see a thread a while ago from someone who had (wrongly) entered the DS Pro serial number into the Animate 2 box in About Installed Plugins, and that caused it to no longer function. I don't know if that can be fixed, but as long as you did not enter any kind of serial in there, your copy should work.

Since you have just updated to the latest version reinstalling may not help. Did you have the Animate pane available in your previous version of DAZ Studio?

This can happen, for example if you entered the DS 4 Pro serial into the AniMate 2 serial box. You need to open a support ticket to get it fixed.
