How do I uninstall DAZ Studio?

I am having some issues with DAZ Studio, and I want to uninstall it and then reinstall it. How do I uninstall it? I uninstalled DAZ Central and then reinstalled that without any problems.

How did you install it in the first place?

  • I think that it was done through DAZ Control.

There is no Daz Control. There is Daz Central, Daz Connect, and Daz Install Manager. Which did you use?

  • I made a mistake when I called it DAZ Control. I was meaning Daz Central. I found out how to uninstall the program and then reinstall it. But the program is still having issues. For some reason, I am seeing a small camera on the screen with the figure and it is preventing me from being able to do anything like moving the body parts. I will try and click on the arms to move them up or down, but the camera is in the way, and I have no idea how to get rid of the camera.

If you have the camera selected, which should be the result of clicking on it, then in the Parameters pane turn off the Selectable button. You will still be able to select it from the list in the Scene pane.

In Preferences you can turn off the default camera, though this simply means a camera will not be automatically added to scenes.

Apart from @richard's observation (the annoying tendency of a camera to obscure selections beyond it) it is also possible, very easy, to make whole items unselectable by accidentally clicking on the arrow to the immediate right of the eyeball icon in the "Scene" tab tree view.  A little X appears on the arrow, the item can no longer be selected in the viewport.  It took me about three years to discover this (three years of having parts of characters anatomy that I could only select by clicking on the node in the scene tab!)  Talk about an intuitive user interface.
